An elder in my old hall was cheating on his wife with a sister in the hall, and he tried to pass her a love note DURING THE MEETING, which his daughter intercepted, and they all ended up rolling around on the floor fighting over the note!!!! Good times....

I walked out of an Elder's Meeting
by AlmightyDog inwell here goes... i apologize in advance if this turns into a long and disjointed rant, but i just have to begin typing in order to keep from exploding.
i realize that what im about to say could seriously jeopardize my anonymity, but i think ive reached the point that i just dont care.
i want this to be over.. let me explain what caused me to rip up a letter and get up and walk out in the middle of an elders meeting two weekends ago.. our boe has been embroiled in a nasty fight for the past 2 years over a certain brothers business dealings.

AlmightyDog--- Very brave thing you did there. Very few would have the courage to make such a strong statement. Sad that the elders' minds were too dull to see the meaning of your actions. The family thing is hard. I am two years into the fade, and starting to wish I would have done the ripping the band-aid off quickly thing. But I don't think I had a good enough outside support system at the time. The family thing is hard, but I like what you said about showing your kids that they have another choice. I admire your strength and passion for the truth. (and by the truth, I do not mean the ORG!!!!)
What you said to pnt1 was HILARIOUS! loved it!

Email I sent to mom after huge fight today
by meangirl inwell my mom and i got into a pretty bad argument today over the phone.
it basically came down to the fact that she couldn't handle what i was saying about the organization, etc and all she could come back to me was that i "hated her?
" i guess i just wanted to share and vent a little too....thanks for letting me do so.. .

Meangirl-- I envy your courage. I have been keeping my feelings about being raised in the JW religion a secret. My mother hardly ever calls me, but when she does, we politely skirt around the issue of my inactivity, and talk about day to day things. I want so badly to tell her the things I have learned, but I just don't have the guts. Bravo for you!

Even ff JWs ARE right, MadJW will not be in paradise
by brotherdan inthe strange thing about madjw is that he defends what he calls "truth" yet ignores everything about "truth" that has to do with "love".
even in a small amount.. so let's say that the jehovah's witnesses are right, madjw.
you aren't going to be with them in their beautiful paradise earth.

He should be worried. He is putting himself in the place of God, and that is a very bad place to put himself in.

I think that accepting people and loving them the way they are is the key. Just because they do not believe the way you do, does not make them wrong. If Armegeddon is coming the way that MADJW thinks that it is, then yes, I think that he should worry. "Judge ye not lest ye should be judged yourself." I think that that must be one of the most inspired verses of the bible. We are not the judge.

Welcome! I grew up thinking that I was wicked because I had so many doubts, and I did not enjoy meetings and field service. Once I stopped trying to ignore my doubts, and actually started to investigate them, I was blown away! Even though there are still hardships in my life, I feel so much freedom! I have never been happier, I hope that this is your experience too. It is overwhelming, some of the things that you will discover, but take a deep breath, and take it one day at a time. Glad you are here!

hi i am new here
by dawntodaylight ini had started studying with jw because i was curious about the religion because my bf then(now husband) was a witness.
i am a very open minded person and really had i known what i know now i prob would not have been baptized.
i always had my doubts but i really enjoyed the positive aspects that i was learning at the meetings...i studied with my mom in law.i prob shouldn't have done that because she has taken it very personal that we have stopped and even had the nerve to say i started studying to get in good with the fam!!
