I was with another 'sister' whose door it was. The householder was a young chubby woman. Sister starts to chat and then asks householder "When is your baby due?" I cringed realising the woman wasnt pregnant. She slammed the door in our faces. Not good lol.

should I stay or should I go?
by Crazyguy ini haven't had my dc yet and after reading about what's being said on saturday i was thinking about not going in protest as they are not being christ like.
will this be a good technique for my kids or should i go and endure the crap and then say a few things to my children while they're listening to this garbage?.

My advice? Get yourself and more importantly, your kids, out as fast as you can, ??.

Accused of thinking too much
by biometrics ini've been officially accused of "thinking too much".. i've tried to quit thinking, but i'm hoplessly addicted to it.i just can't seem to turn my brain off.. at times duing my school years i was accused of not thinking enough.
now i'm guilty of thinking too much!.
the brother even went on to say "could you imagine what the witness organisation if everyone was thinking independently like you do"?

I just want a divorce!
by bornfree123 inhi there, this is my first post, but i've been buzzing around this site for years.. i got married at 18, hubby was 20, i was a regular pioneer and we were talking about serving in bethel.
fast forward - i left in 2004 after a 5 year battle with my conscience, family and friends who kept insisting that i was just "weak and needed to have another bible study".
however hubby and i stayed together although it was kinda on the understanding that we would just not talk about it.

Hello BF and welcome to the forum. I'm in UK, and also went through a divorce a few years ago. Not easy with elders interfering, they objected to me even separating on the grounds of physical and mental cruelty.

Who get baptized in holy spirit, and when?
by The Searcher inmy wife asked me a very simple, but profound question; "when does someone who claims to be anointed, get baptized in holy spirit?"..
i'd never thought of it before, but it quickly dawned on me that in general, anyone who claims to have the heavenly hope, never had it at their baptism.
they almost always received their 'calling' after several years as a christian.

At an anointing the heart is baptised in Holy Spirit. It's open to everyone not just the JWs 144,000. If you've received it you're not in any doubt. Unmissable, undeniable, and unforgettable.

Fading ... and Feeling Lost
by What Now? inprior to that we had been in a new congregation for about 9 months, and we were just irregular.
my husband rarely went, and i would go occasionally with our toddler son just enough to show our faces and keep the elders off our backs, and for the sake of some friendships in our old hall.
all of the reasons i had for going were just no longer important.

It takes time. Most of us have felt how you feel. Gradually you get used to the normality of non-instant friendships. The real ones are far better too, worth the work and the wait. The KH ones weren't really 'real' you know? Aren't there any pregnancy classes etc in your area that would help you to meet people? The trick is to be interested in others of course, but give yourself time to readjust and move on. It really does get better....

Well done for being so honest and brave. It's so heartbreaking that they have this power to damage families. I hope it makes your mum think, at least your dad is trying to maintain things between you. Send some flowers or something just saying that you'll always love them? Love never fails.

Just editing to add, it never fails, but cults really damn well interfere with it....
