I believe that it was a brilliant tactic of the WTBS to call their religion 'The Truth'.....thats what it was and is though...a tactic that has success.

now that you have discovered the "truth" is not the truth, do you still believe that a truth exists?
do you think you have found one, are you still searching or have you given up on the whole idea of an absolute truth?.

i last posted in mid february about my wife.
we were adjusting to the new realisation of what the wts really is.. she has since left me, and i have been reeling ever since, but now after 5 months, i'm getting back some strength.
i haven't been able to post on here because i just couldn't talk about it.
Exelder I'm sad that you are sad. Divorce is so painful isnt it? It really is about taking things a day at a time and just keep on keeping on. Finding plenty to do will help you a lot. Another thing that helps is trying to keep a smile on your face so that you attract people...it really works. I do hope you feel better soon, and am sure you will, nothing stays the same so this too will pass.

is this gods organization?.
after 50 yrs in, 25 as some type of servant in responsible position, i am beginning to wonder.. .
to me, gods organization should be exactly what the bible says.
It cant possibly be God's Organisation with its total lack of love and mercy.

i can only say i'm new here in the sense i've just been able to join.
i have actually followed this forum for over a year now.
i've tried joing several times but must have been doing something wrong, so i thought i'd try one more time and it finally worked.. i was a born-in jw.
Welcome to the forum ...glad you made it....what a sad and tumultuous childhood you suffered ...I feel for you as I had one too...do your best to resolve any pain its left you with as early in your life as you are able...

Eddie Izzard is hilarious on the subject of Noah's Ark...he talks of all the animals going in and then when the Ark lands and is opened there are only the 2 lions and a lot of blood....lol..

just throwing some thoughts out there, from what i've noticed, and interested to see what you all think: agreeing and opposing opinions are welcomed!.
i feel that the "apostate" sites i've run into have a lot of good information on them that i am thankful to have found.
my eyes would not have been opened without them.
Yes I agree with Wobble...I think this is the best forum on the net for our needs...I didnt venture into these sites until earlier this year and was shocked and defensive at the first ones I engaged with...this particular forum with all its nuances and personalities has been an enormous help to me ...it led me to Ray Franz's books and much more research than I had been aware of...
Some people are justifiably angry ( it happens to me off and on ) and some are sad beyond words, we're all unique arent we? and handle pain and sorrow differently....but....we have in common the abuse of the WTBS .... some of us have lost too much....and recovery, however we manage it is precious indeed...

ever since i was a kid, i felt so lucky - so lucky (i know, i know) that out of all the religions in the world, i happened to be born into a family that practiced the one true religion in all the universe.
it seemed much to good to be true, but i always thought it was such a happy coincidence.
my immediate family and grandparents were jehovah's witnesses.. .
Welcome to the forum here...its a good place to be....I'm sorry you suffered the 'pain' of disfellowshipping...its inhumane...

i am going to get a lot of flack for this post, but i need to do it.
i want to preface this by saying that i don't judge any of you and i believe in the right of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, including your freedom to not practice one.. however, i'm finding a trend among some ex jws here.
notice the word "some".
I still have a love for the Bible and my faith in God is intact despite the WTBS ...
Nowadays though I have learned to respect others' views and beliefs and see how wrong 'judging' others is....its taken me a while...but I do believe its more Christlike....

it occured to me that when the new, young elders, ministerial servants and so on take over, they are further and further away from the origin of the witnesses.
when the lies were fresh in the minds of all, when people saw first hand what was done wrong, giving them the reasons to jump ship and enjoy life, without fear of making a mistake, because they had a good idea of the facts.
these things have since been brushed under the carpet and the circuit overseers, elders, ministerial servants and so on are more naive and clueless (in my opinion) than ever.. the same applies to the rank and file witnesses.
Lol @ Palmtree...'wingnut' lol...
I agree with you KW13 ...the younger JWs are so unaware of the WTBS history...but that I feel makes them dangerous and just like any other peoples who are just 'following' a religion....something they condemn, ironically...they act without justifying their reasons to themselves...
