  Had a Conversation with a Young JW Lady at the Bus Stop

  there was a young blonde lady who was passing out the wt & awake magazines at the bus stop where i was waiting for the bus to go downtown..... i started having a conversation with her by starting out about charles taze russell.

  i told her that of all of my readings of the works of c.t.

  russell, not one time did he ever teach that jesus was michael the archangel..... so i told her about this quote....zions watchtower and herald of christs presence, their official magazine of doctrine, 1879, page 48, which is teaching on jesus christ: "...his position is contrasted with that of men and angels, as he is lord of both, having all power in heaven and earth.

  Let the shunning begin!

  boy, this has just been my lucky week.

  twice in one week i was the recipient of "active shunning" by former congregation members.. scene one-the local discount food place where all the blue collar folks (and a few smart upper crust ones) buy their food.

  i'm busy grocery shopping and sister zealous comes marching down the other side of the aisle, dutifully studying the cans on said shelf.

  I'm glad you were not hurt by their actions. I shutter to think how a person that is depressed or mentally ill feels when this happens to them.

  anyone remember before smurfs there were trolls?

  i had to watch as my whole troll family with their cottage was burned in the back yard..... so one of the first things i did when i left was go on ebay and get my trolls back!

  now i have like 50 or so...... i also went on ebay and managed to get all 41 years of ideals christmas magazines.

  Have you or have you known someone disfellowshipped more than once??

  i cam close to being disfellowshipped once,i was a servant so they only took awy all of my duties,and priv's.but i know a sister even dated her for 10 months who has been disfellowshipped 3 times.it was kind of funny because her 2 fleshly sisters got disfellow'ed around the same time and they all didnt seem to care and went to jamaica for 3 weeks.1 of them even came back pregnant.

  Private reprof in 1980 for getting pregnant by the worldly guy

  Elder's wife had me a baby shower in 1980 was hugh get together with famlies, presents, cake and baby shower games..

  Got disfellowshipped in 1982

  reinstated in 1983

  disfellowshipped again in 1988

  reinstated again in 1989

  and was involved in disfellowshipping activites again 1991, but didn't go to their meeting and never heard from them again. My own elder dad has not even tried to shephard me.

  Drugs?

  i think this is my first debatable topic.

  for anyone who has experimented with recreational drugs or who knows about someone who has how do you think they can change you for the better as well as for the worse?

  i know a few ways in which they really changed me, i was very shy and never felt compfortable around people until i had my first experience and felt totally unhibited around a room full of people (talking in retrospect) and i never forgot what that felt like - it opened my mind and i learned to become much more confident.

  Three weeks ago, I asked a sister at my door, what exactly do you mean by "worship" Today she came back and gave me the above type written paragraph. Is this correct?

  'just when i'm about to get out, they keep pulling me back in"- godfather 3.. this quote does'nt truly apply to me, but just when i am convinced there are absolutely no redeemable qualities about the borg this really nice elder comes up to me and very calmly tells me how much i am loved and missed at the meetings, to not feel any pressure, and that jehovah will always be there for me, and that he (the elder) would too.

  he had a very calm, serene, quality about him.

  came off as truly "spiritual".

  I have met people that seemed to illuminate with a special aura or something.

  They were people that made you feel good just being around them.

  (no elders come to mind )

  Maybe "HE" is sincere. I hope so. Only time will tell.
