  My purpose in this life finally found it's meaning

  well over 30 years ago on a lovely spring morning, my mother held me for the first time and looked onto my little pink face and said, my little baby is going to make a difference.

  i heard her recount this story over and over throughout my life.

  i never really understood what my purpose could be.

  i'm not sure if it was mentiopned.

  but i think that we are talking about not just one call from each person, but we are talking about spending a good length of time calling repeatedly.

  othrwise it just won't have much of an impact.

  I answer the phone all day long. I work for a realestate company that also has rental property. I hear complaints all day long from tenants, I here all the sad stories about why their rent is going to be late.

  I don't care. I can't do anything about their car breaking down, the owners of their apartment doesn't care about thier car braking down. All he wants is his rent, on time or you're getting a "three days to vacate" notice.

  About the complaints, all I do is write down your name, number and complaint, then I call maintance, I don't know or care when they come. ...not trying to be a bitch, but calling me several times a day doesn't change a thing.

  When I leave at five, I go gome. my morgage is paid, my car is running, my toilet flushes and my sink doesn't leak.

  Today...I'll go back and answer the phones again. I only hear what I have to hear.

  that's it.

  Raising children without a religion - thoughts, advice?

  almost ready to take the plunge, but have held back for years because of topic.

  husband and i have not been active for many years and no longer consider ourselves jw's.

  we also have no desire to be part of an organized religion.

  Welcome AlyMC, glad you found your way here.

  I left when my children were pretty young, they don't remember very much about being a JW.

  As they were going up, 7+ on, they were occasionally invited with their friends in the neighborhood to join them at church or church funtions. I let them go if they wanted to. They didn't feel a need to go every time, or on a regular. At this time, I don't think I really knew what I believed, and when they asked I told them, my current feeling and why I felt that way.

  My grandchildren have no religious beliefs, whatsoever. We talk openly about others beliefs and how we feel about them.

  what about..."I'm sorry you won't be able to attend, maybe next time" My parents didn't come to my wedding, Well, I didn't really invite them the first two times, but the third time I did, they said the had more important things to do. (They took my brothers to Watchtower Building, she said, "We have to show them what's important", whatever, neither one of my brothers attend the meetings anymore, and I'm still married to number three 15 years later) Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. lisa

  Kingdumb Discomfort

  i have noticed that most kingdumb hells have had numerous comfort problems.

  one of the most consistent is that they are extremely dry at this time of year.

  i can remember when i had chapped hands, that it is always worse after sitting there for 2 hours.

  my cat monty is a scavenger.

  every night he brings an odd assortment of items to bed - this picture shows a little sock, two little mittens, a catnip sack, and two cords.

  it also shows little lavender sneaking up on him to steal the black cord, which she loves.

  My kitten is having surgery in the morning

  and he's going to hate me.. i think i'm more upset about this than he will be.at least i hope so.poor kitten doesn't know yet.i haven't told him.. .

  I was afraid to look at this thread...it thought it was going to be gross.

  A girl I work with, told me yesterday morning that one of her girls stayed home from school to watch over their cat, and she was going to try and get a vet's appointment and might have to leave early. ..... they had an opening at 4pm and she gets off at 3.

  At 2:30 her daughter called, the cat had stopped breathing.

  Oliver will be just fine, and will live a longer life thanks to you.

  i live in an apartment and work from home.

  earlier today i see a couple of sheriff's cars, an ambulance, and fire truck go whizzing by my apartment and head down to my friends building.

  she just called me and told me that the guy that lives above her hung himself.
