Thank you all for your encouraging comments. It felt so good to have that weight dropped off my shoulders. It alleviated the internal struggle that I was feeling for supporting rules, procedures and teachings that have no solid foundation in the Bible.
Again, the fact that I don’t have to teach lies and be a pawn in the hands of a deceiving organization is in itself liberating.

PROFILE OF MY CONGREGATION
by onemore init was mentioned in another thread that gb is struggling with the lack of zeal from many active jws.
i thought of the real attitude and behavior of the active jws in my congo.
this is what i really really see..... profile of my congregation and people close to me: married couples from their mid 30s to early 40s planning to and having children, saving for retirement and going back to college.

In conversations with about 10 active JW, I made subtle comments expressing my “confusion and lack of understanding” about certain things…i.e. the generation change, the totalitarian language, the lack of love and the dullness of the meetings. I’ve been surprised to see how they openly express their real feelings and doubts.
One of them told me…I’m so glad that I could talk about these things, not everybody is so open about these topics. My response was…if we want things to change for the better, we should stop being so afraid to talk with each other. There is no improvement where there is a policy of silence.

It was mentioned in another thread that GB is struggling with the lack of zeal from many active JW’s. I thought of the REAL attitude and behavior of the active JWs in my congo. This is what I really really see….
Profile of my congregation and people close to me: married couples from their mid 30’s to early 40’s planning to and having children, saving for retirement and going back to college.
Young ones, behaving no different than non-JW’s teenagers, with the exception that they are clean cut, do their “pioneering”, go from “door to door” (only with people in their age group) and abstain from “fornication” (some, but they have internet access in their rooms…wink, wink). Only a few are the model JW teenager meeting the expectations of the GB.
The way I see it, for the older JW and many others in my congregation this thing is just as a social club…it gives them something to do, but I don’t see REAL zeal, some just parrot JW doctrines from what they hear from others, but there is no theological reasoning, not a clear understanding of the core JW’s doctrines and its history.
If it wasn’t for the shunning policy, the no blood doctrine, and the demonizing of higher education, I would say that I’m seeing no difference between a half way JW and an active Baptist. The new generation (pun intended) of JW is not the same as the one before it.
I see more and more males resigning their MS and Elder position and not aspiring to any so called “privileges”. As a matter of fact, they are not reacting in surprise when they hear that bro so and so is no longer an MS/elder.
What about yours?

1) I still believe that there is not a hell fire (not an original JW believe)
2) I still believe that God is not a trinity (not an original JW doctrine)
3) I still believe in life after death in heaven or earth or both (not an original JW believe)
4) I still believe in the resurrection and final judgment (not an original JW believe)
5) I still believe in witnessing to others about my Christian faith – not by going from door to door leaving WT publications- (not a unique JW practice)
that's it for now.

Not Sure What To Do....HELP!!!!!
by lostinnj83 inhello..i have been lurking for quite some time and am finally ready to make my first post!.
i was raised a witness and am still "active" in the congregation and am married to husband who is also and have been having some doubts for some time and voiced some of them to my husband a few months back and he immediatly called the elders who provided a sheparding call.
doubts were mainly on the harshness of the disfellowshipping and the blood issue.

The Watch Tower is well adept in their use of emotional blackmail. There is not a way out without collateral damage. Understanding and accepting this fact will help you in assessing your situation and all the possible outcomes. There is not a “one fits all” formula, many of us here have dealt with this situation in many different ways; we are doing what works best for us as individuals. Some have DA/DF themselves and left it all behind; others have faded and deal with a disappointed JW husband/wife; and many others have found a mix between fading and being a less committed member of the group. This last option is not easy, it comes with a price…it can be emotionally and mentally draining, that’s why we have developed a filter and sort of a mental block.
Follow the advice, don’t rush, take your time and educate yourself.
Feel free to PM is you want to know more about my experience.

Evidently, a generation of awaken Jehovah's witness have discerned the sings that this is a load of fecal matter. Correspondingly, the overlapping members of the about to be awaken generation will also discern the sings. Soon very soon we will witness the weakening of the Watch Tower’s system of thing. Rejoice! And advertise, advertise! on the world wide web, to your families and friends that “The End” is not as near as we once thought! Isn’t time to carefully reconsider our priorities and make the necessary adjustments to have a life outside of the Organization?

Welcome to the board! Welcome to freedom, welcome to the light!
Lostinnj83 , listen (read) carefully. Take it easy, don’t rush, don’t express your doubts so openly. Patience is the key.
Many of us here have been in the same position that you are now in. We have learned that it gets a little better but you have to give it time. I expressed my concerns to my wife and I got the standard JW reaction. But after reading some of the experiences in this board, I soon realized that I needed to take care of me first before helping my wife see the truth about the “truth”.
I suggest you to first read the NT using another bible translation such as the ASV, NIV, even the KJ version. Concentrate on letters to the Galatians and Romans.
Pray for strength; and always keep in mind that there is a better Christianity than the one branded by the Watch Tower Corp. And above all, don’t rush into making any drastic decision, not now until you are ready to face the consequences.
Romans 8:35-39 (New International Version)
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." [ a ] 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, [ b ] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Are you from NJ?

Lozhasleft: Once you learn the truth about the “truth”, it becomes a burden to support the Organization’s policies. At least now I don’t have the pressure to “be an example in field circus”, I don’t have to watch out for what I say from the platform, no extra meetings, I can miss the sales and indoctrination meetings without being reminded that I should always attend because I’m an “elder”, no more JC, no more politics, no more pressure to meet expectations.
I can now work on my “fade” or switch to a mix between a fader and a lowly “publisher”. I’m in the same position that many of you are in, with family and friends that are held hostage in the WT organization. So getting DA/DF’s are not my best options for now.
