The Three Common Complaints by JWs Against "False Religion"

1. false doctrines, all taught to keep people in darkness, all done by those claiming to speak for god!.

2. misconduct by the leaders and by the followers with impunity (ie.

child abuse, adultery, etc., etc.)..

These 3 common objections apply to them perfectly, but most JW fail to see and admit that they are just like any other religion… just a little bit worse than the mainstream Christian denominations.

I believe that what makes most JW less objective, about other denomination, is their lack of knowledge of the Christian church’s history and the miss representation of the traditional (orthodox) Christian theology. Once you have a grasp of these basic concepts, you then have a better understanding of what Christianity is about, and of the meaning of Jesus’ “wheat & tears” parable (Matthew 13:24-50).

We can’t deny that the current unstable world economy, the various political upraising in different countries and the resent earth quakes, are giving a sort of credibility to the Watchtower apocalyptic message. And there is no doubt that (in a sick way) the “witnesses” are rejoicing over these events, as they see them as a sign that the “end of the world” is near and that their deliverance as the only super survivors is at hand. And to be honest…I hate that. Not only because it shows how insensitivity the witnesses have become towards the suffering of their neighbors, but also because it boosts their self-importance and arrogance as they and the WT are the “only ones that been giving warnings about these things for a long time” (so they say).

But you know what…they still wrong, they are still a damaging Christianized religion, and they’re still not the “Truth”. Their religion does not protect them from these things, they still losing their jobs and struggling to support their families, the same as non-JW, they still die in natural disasters, the same as non-JW, and they are not the only ones that see these events as a sign of the end-times.

No matter how bad things get, the Watchtower is still WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!….period.

Is anybody interested?

.....in getting together for fellowship, spiritual encouragement and biblical discussions?.

i (as well as many) am doing fine, but sometimes i feel the need to get together with some friends for spiritual fellowship...i dont want to go back to the kh searching for it, because i know i will not find it there.

im also hesitant about looking for christian fellowship in another church, as i dont feel ready for that just yet.. .

I understand that many of us feel burned down by religion. And I respect the fact that there are some lines that should not be crossed when it comes to someone’s spirituality. It is, after all, a personal matter. But I feel that it is completely valid for some of us with a JW background to seek association for bible discussion and spiritual encouragement, there is nothing wrong if a group of fading or ex JW decide to get together for that purpose.

I’ve been to meetup, and the exJW group in my area has the social component, but I’m also looking for a bible discussion group composed primarily of those with a JW background.

Lamallcool.I don't know him, I mainly know JW from the Spanish circuit in NY and a few from NJ.

in recent months there have been massive protests and demonstrations against autocratic rulers in the middle east and north africa.

many of these were possible in part because the protesters used social media services like facebook, youtube and twitter to get the word out and let the world know what was going on.

these services are so threatening to many governments that they're blocked in order to control their people.

Misery.

I believe that the experience is true, because something very similar happened in my circuit. A group of JW youth from the congregation arranged a party and sent the invitations via facebook, the party turned into a mild-rave, there were JW’s from different circuit and districts, even a few non-witness kids… and guess what? Yep, you guessed it. There was underage drinking, “brazen” conduct and a few JC afterwards.

I just want to get together with people that shared my religious background, that understand what being a JW is about. I have the feeling that only ex JW and JW of the conscious class understand our kind.

It's About Time Something Was Done.....

the toughest anti-illegal-immigrant measure in a generation passed the arizona legislature this week.

if signed, as expected, by republican governor jan brewer, the law will give local police sweeping new powers in regard to undocumented workers.

currently, immigration offenses are violations of federal, not state, law, and local police officers only can inquire about a person's immigration status if that person is suspected of another crime.

Have you made MAJOR CHANGES since you started posting here?

i ask because i've been posting at jwd/jwn for 10 years now.

i was a rapidly fading jw when i started but still considered myself a christian for a good few years more.

now i've embraced reason and rejected faith i'm a very happy atheist and enjoy learning more about the fact of evolution.. what about you?.

I’m not longer “angry” and disappointed. 2 nd degree fader, more relax and no longer feeling guilty about going back to school to get my masters’ degree. I’m more optimistic, and actually planning for the long term.

I’m still a Christian, and respectful of other believer’s and non-believers points of views.
