Those people...? From that time period... in the Middle East..? I'd be carrying a Lousiville Slugger. Knock some sense into them, lol.

Do you like the people in the Bible?
by Dis-Member inthe society always speaks about all the wonderful people and characters in the bible.. they always too speak of many of them as being so humble, faithful, loyal, diligent, loving, kind, wise, merciful etc, and worthy of imitation.
also of how god blessed them followed by endless examples and reasons why we today should imitate them.. .
they also speak of how wonderful it would be to meet some of these people in the future 'new system' and have often depicted scenes where the the survivors of armageddon would be gathered around some ancient resurrected faithful asking them questions and listening to their stories of times past.

Your views and ideas on forum areas and organization?
by Simon inthis may come as a shock to some people, but the current forum structure was kind of thrown together without much real thought and then evolved a bit over time.
there are a few things that particularly grate on me and areas where i don't think the subjects work particularly well.
'friends' is a bit vague and becomes a dumping ground, news & world events vs politics & current affairs is hard to decide sometimes, child abuse is a scandal but isn't contained withing 'scandals & coverups' etc.... with a new forum platform imminent, it's a good time to solicit ideas to improve things.

LOL, I have thought for a while that there should be a 'Christian only' section, so those poor persecuted souls can converse in peace: instead of having to join other forums. And maybe a section for temporary threads that automatically get deleted after seven days, so people can chat & talk nonsense without cluttering up the forum.

What is this new jw.org religion?
by EndofMysteries ini recently was on a trip in central america.
any kingdomhall i passed by had jw.org banners or scribble that went over what used to say kingdomhall.
in a flea market, and other business areas, i saw the infamous literature cart out.

LOL, probably in 2015 everything will go back to the way it was, and everyone who sung or danced in the KH will be labelled 'worldly' and will be reproved. This is all just more BS to cover 100 years of complete BS failure.

HOW CAN WOMEN BE ANNOINTED BUT NO PRIVELAGES IN HALL?
by NoMoreHustle ini had listened to the degrading talk by gb heard (on women) & watched a video on evie bklyn channel & there was alot of interesting questions that are raised.. i had always wondered why can't women in the hall handle mics or run magazine counter etc.?
but they (if annointed) will rule in heaven with jesus.
that is a pretty heavy responsibility to help jesus rule millions of people on earth, but yet they can't pass a mic or even run the sound system in the kh.

Because it's a scam, lol. All the Witnesses can have whatever they want... when they are dead (or when Armageddon comes: whichever is sooner, lol) but for now, they have to give their money and time on a kind of instalment plan, so they can benefit from the big pay-off. The Nigerians are amateurs compared to the GB, lol.

That's it......
by whathehadas inthis might be my last post.
i've had quite a few things on my mind over the past few years, mainly my belief in god.
i've tried to move on from the jw past but that's really being foolish.

You worry too much about the past. There are plenty of people who grew up in Shitville, or who are running from a crappy past- but they aren’t looking back! You should want to hang out with people who are going places, making plans and looking ahead to the future. To worry about the past, and to think it means something, is futile- the past is gone, and in the end the person you were is gone too. You can never escape the past if you keep looking back- like Lot’s wife, lol. Take a long last look at your baggage… and then throw it away, and start out fresh.

I guess most people probably think they are weirder than everyone else, because nobody really compares their weirdness to other’s weirdness, to find out how weird they really are; and everyone tries to appear ‘normal’ anyway- but deep down most people are weird I think.
And it’s normal to think that the past is crap- because it is. We only live once, and so make many mistakes- they are the price of progress in life.
It’s important not to get down about it, but pursue your hobbies & interests- getting as much as you can out of life- and good things (and people) will naturally come into your life in your activities. -

LOL, every time you delete a program, Windows will create a Restore point, which will eventually fill 12% of your drive. You need to delete them all except the last one.

Some good books to read?
by thedepressedsoul ini just finished crysis of a conscience and all i have to say is wow!
showed how they sadly look for doctrine changes to fit their agenda vs what the bible says.
any new light or changes i'll be wondering the real motive behind them.

I'm printing out the chapters from this book by D. Rudolf Bultmann- he's supposed to be one of the greatest Bible scholars of the 20th century.

Poll--How Many Believe In God, Do Not Believe or Are Not Sure Of His Existence?
by minimus ini believe in god but i'm not sure of anything....what about you?.

I no longer believe- its an impossibility. Where was God in the Big Bang? The concept of gods was created by nutty people long ago, we have inherited the culture so we try to make it 'fit' in the 21st century; but ultimately its impossible.

At what age did you notice time went by so fast?
by adjusted knowledge ini like so many americans left my parent's house as soon as i could (age 19).
i would see them maybe one or two times a year for the next ten years.
when i hit thirty and got married it was even less frequent.

LOL, not too many takers for this thread- stating the obvious & unwelcome facts of life! Time does seem to go faster - and here's a quote from Alvin Toffler's Future Shock that might explain it:
Older people are even more likely to react strongly against any further acceleration of change. There is a solid mathematical basis for the observation that age often correlates with conservatism: time passes more swiftly for the old.
When a fifty-year-old father tells his fifteen-year-old son that he will have to wait two years before he can have a car of is own, that interval of 730 days represents a mere 4 per cent of the father's lifetime to date. It represents over 13 per cent of the boy's lifetime. It is hardly strange that to the boy the delay seems three or four times longer than to the father. Similarly, two hours in the life of a four-year-old may be the felt equivalent of twelve hours in the life of her twenty-four-year-old mother. Asking the child to wait two hours for a piece of candy may be the equivalent of asking the mother to wait fourteen hours for a cup of coffee. There may be a biological basis as well, for such differences in subjective response to time. `With advancing age,' writes psychologist John Cohen of the University of Manchester, `the calendar years seem progressively to shrink. In retrospect every year seems shorter than the year just completed, possibly as a result of the gradual slowing down of metabolic processes.' In relation to the slowdown of their own biological rhythms, the world would appear to be moving faster to older people, even if it were not.
Most people probably notice themselves aging at the end of their 30's or the start of their 40's... I felt like I was god in my 30's- now I just feel like a collection of body parts- but such is life, lol.
