As a Witness, I eventually came to the conclusion that being anointed wasn't all that desirable. If Jesus' sacrifice was to put back on track what Adam and Eve lost for mankind, well, that would be perfect live on this paradise earth. Therefore, to me, it stands to reason that the anointed are sacrificing everything God had purposed for a man ... no? Now, I am not saying that a heavenly calling would be a bad thing, but if there were two callings, one heavenly and one earthly, wasn't the first prophecy in the Bible made for the benefit of man ... wasn't the Kingdom established to benefit man on earth ... if the NT (or Christian Greek Scriptures) were written primarily for the anointed, isn't the purpose of the Kingdom with the anointed kings and priests to serve mankind? So really, wouldn't the great crowd be the primary beneficiaries considering God's purpose for the earth?

Becoming officially recognized as Annointed
by B_Deserter ini've heard there is a very secretive process the wts uses to determine whether or not they'll consider someone "of the annointed.
" from what i've heard it's a very rigorous set of questions.
can anyone here confirm this?

I think they are testing the waters for another major change in doctrine. From here it is not a big leap to disengage the 144,000 from the F&DS.
Didn't they already do this last year? Sounds like this just finishes it off. RF can't handle it all in one big jump, baby steps makes it so much easier to tolerate.
w09 2/15 p. 28 par. 17 They “Keep Following the Lamb”The faithful and discreet slave today is represented by the Governing Body, who take the lead and coordinate the Kingdom-preaching work throughout the earth. The members of the Governing Body are experienced, spirit-anointed elders. They in particular can be described as “those who are taking the lead” among us. (Heb. 13:7) In caring for nearly 7,000,000 Kingdom proclaimers worldwide in over 100,000 congregations, these anointed overseers have “plenty to do in the work of the Lord.” (1 Cor. 15:58) Listening to the slave class means giving our full cooperation to its Governing Body.

Getting into Arguments with JW's...
by ForbiddenFruit ini'm trying to fade away, but i sometimes find myself in discussions or arguments with jw family/friends/white haired virgin elders.
now, i usually have them beat on things but i'm not very experienced, so i was thinking if you guys could help me put together a list of completely unanswerable questions to pose to my jw friends/family/elders so they can stop bugging me.
if i keep asking them questions they simply cannot answer, then they might leave them alone.

The fact of the matter is, at the very least, by being here theMadJW is not loyal to the organization and does not follow their direction or cousel. He's in the same boat as the rest of us, he's just still pretending.

If still "in", how do you feel when praying in front of a group despite being in doubt of your beliefs?
by Crisis of Conscience init happened to me this weekend.
i'm curently "active" and had some long time friends from a different congregation over for dinner.. we went through the formality of praying before the meal.
normally or rather lately i've been passing it off to someone else.

I can relate to this CoC. I find myself being careful what I say and how I say it. I notice different ones who pray at the congregation meetings who use the name Jehovah over and over throughout the prayer, yet if I pray to just My Father without using the name Jehovah, I feel awkward. My personal prayers have taken on more meaning, but my public prayers are guarded.

A.Fenderson - Oral sex is still a no-no. I really can't understand why there is a rule about this, but the study article of October 15, 2007 "Responding to Your Conscience" doesn't leave this one up to your conscience as the footnote in paragraph 8 refers you to it refers you to w83 3/15 pp. 30-31 with the ultimate statement made "Such practice and advocacy could even lead to expulsion from the congregation."
The context is provided below.
w83 3/15 pp. 30-31 Honor Godly Marriage!
Married Christians
How about sexual activity between married couples within the marriage bond? It is not for the elders to pry into the intimate lives of married Christians. However, the Bible certainly enters into their lives. Those who would “keep walking by spirit” should not ignore the Scriptural indications of God’s thinking. And they will do well to cultivate a hatred for everything that is unclean before Jehovah, including what are clearly perverted sexual practices. Married couples should act in a way that will leave them with a clean conscience, as they give unimpeded attention to developing “the fruitage of the spirit.”—Galatians 5:16, 22, 23; Ephesians 5:3-5.
What, though, if one mate wants or even demands to share with his or her partner in what is clearly a perverted sex practice? The above-presented facts show that porneia involves unlawful sexual conduct outside the marital arrangement. Thus, a mate’s enforcing perverted acts, such as oral or anal sex, within the marriage would not constitute a Scriptural basis for a divorce that would free either for remarriage. Even though a believing mate is distressed by the situation, yet that one’s endeavor to hold to Scriptural principles will result in a blessing from Jehovah. In such cases it may be helpful for the couple to discuss the problem frankly, bearing in mind especially that sexual relations should be honorable, wholesome, an expression of tender love. This certainly should exclude anything that might distress or harm one’s mate.—Ephesians 5:28-30; 1 Peter 3:1, 7.
As already stated, it is not for elders to “police” the private marital matters of couples in the congregation. However, if it becomes known that a member of the congregation is practicing or openly advocating perverted sex relations within the marriage bond, that one certainly would not be irreprehensible, and so would not be acceptable for special privileges, such as serving as an elder, a ministerial servant or a pioneer. Such practice and advocacy could even lead to expulsion from the congregation. -

Jehovah had Moses and Joshua remove their sandals when they were in a holy place. I can't see anywhere in the Bible where He says not to hug during a prayer, clearly, on the othere hand, common sense should tell you that groping would be inappropriate. Now, as for removing your shoes, there is actual Bible precedence for that, perhaps we need a remove your shoes policy when going to the Kingdom Hall or any other Watchtower owned property.

My daughter was hugging her mother during the closing prayer at the meeting this past Thursday, it made me smile, my wife didn't reciprocate, that made me feel sad.
The Finger - I remember not all that long ago it would irritate me a little to see a row of people grabbing each others hands and holding them during the prayers, now it bothers me that it even mattered to me. Its sad how judgmental we get about the innocent things that make others feel happy.

PROCLAIMER'S BOOK quiz
by Terry intake this brief proclaimer's book quiz concerning the society's views on homosexuality.. first, remember when the proclaimer's book was released:.
released at 1993s summer divine teaching district convention.
in contrast to "many churches" who debate the question of whether homosexuality should be viewed as sinful, .

Terry, I must respectfully disagree with you on this one. The clarification was whether or not it was grounds for divorce, not a change in the view of it being sinful and a perversion.

littlepixie - I had a Bible study for a little over a year and got baptized ... that was in 1986 ... I finally realized I didn't have a Bible study, I studied a book called "You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth". It made so much sense to me and I wanted to live forever on paradise earth ... I still do ... but in reality, I was born and raised Catholic, I didn't know the Bible, the book made sense, of course it did, who would purposely write a book that didn't, we don't study that book anymore, we don't believe some of those teachings anymore, the Bible on the other hand is constant, Jesus is the way and the truth. The truth of Jesus never changes. The truth from the Watchtower does, in fact, the term for it is "current truth" ... seriously. Just make sure of all things, be informed, check out the opposing views before you commit, because it is too late later.

Why Will the WT Ultimately Fail
by Kum Vulcan ini see two compelling reasons right off the bat:.
1. financial - this one is a bit counterintuitive, as we all know the wtb$ is loaded.
but if we could see real preaching stats by territory, i bet my ass that the most return visits are in the western/developed countries.

Sir82 ... I was of the opinion the Book Study arrangement was dropped for control reasons. Renegade elders and sheep have accountablilty in front of the entire body, no independent thinking offered in full congregation setting.
