New method of appointing Regular Pioneers!
by stuckinarut2 ina new arrangement for appointing regular pioneers has been announced.. in the past, a person would have to fill in a form from the society, this would have to be approved by the local elders, then this would be sent to the branch for final approval and appointment.. now it is just the local elders that approve it.
it doesn't need the branch approval any more.. they are selling it as a way to "speed up the process in order to be more effective in the ministry during these urgent times blah blah".

Lying about Shunning! jw.org conceals the "truth"
by Skinnedsheep inhttp://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/shunning/ .
"those who were baptized as jehovahs witnesses but no longer preach to others, perhaps even drifting away from association with fellow believers, are not shunned.
in fact, we reach out to them and try to rekindle their spiritual interest.".

Theocratic warfare.
The Organization prides itself on being "cautious as serpents yet innocent as doves" (Matt 10:16) ... the Bible was written for them and about them don't ya know
They don't lie, they cunningly change the focus of the question and give truthful partial answers. It's why they hate ex-JW's, we call them on the BS and hold them to the original question, then they call us Apostates and refuse to have dialogue ... what does Oubliette say ... oh yeah, it's a CULT!

Paranoia of today's WT study!
by stuckinarut2 inthe wt study for sept 7th just breeds such a spirit of paranoia!.
using old biblical references just so as to prevent anyone from using critical thinking skills and analysing the "truth".. then using incorrect, leading reasoning to paint any who "think outside of the box" of the org as "apostate".... pure manipulation!.

Oubliette: writers of the WT publications are very skillful manipulators
So true. This harsh reality helped me to finally get over the optimism that I held onto for a while after learning TTATT. When you see accounts again and again of deliberate manipulation it removes any doubt of their being innocent of knowingly continuing the charade.

PART TWO of AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE BY A PRACTICING JEHOVAH'S WITNESS
by Sparks inwhile you are sitting there reading this, there are literally hundreds of thousands of young males and females all over the world [ mostly in america / canada and england] sitting in their grotty little smelly bedrooms or flats, designing computer viruses that they will up-load onto web-sites to cause anonymous innocent peoples computers to malfunction.
these creeps spend literally weeks, months or even years hoping to make a computer viruses that will get into peoples computer bios to completely destroy their computers.
they never see the peoples anger, frustration and distress.... the damage can cost each person about 1,000 [ $1,660.74 ] or more to replace a basic new laptop or tower.

Yes, I read the entire post ... I still think this Sparks is pulling a prank here. Perhaps to try and get JW lurkers to see how idiotic they can be, perhaps just for his own personal amusement ... or maybe he really was assimilated back into the BORG ... ?? At this point I suppose only Sparks knows for sure.

Anyone else notice the new Terms of Use on jw.org?
by leaving_quietly ini first noticed it today... slides up at the bottom.
i wonder why they felt the need to do this?
this is just silly for a religious website..

Obviously, Watchtower is run by attorneys.
Perhaps it is their way of incorporating Rev 22:19 to their intellectual property.
It is God's Organization after all, and He isn't one te be mocked, so, I suppose we could expect His website to have warnings about punishment for misusing it.

by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/04/tim-burton-big-eyes-new-movie-margaret-walter-keane-amy-adams-christoph-waltz_n_3013705.html.
tim burton 'big eyes' movie tells the story of art couple margaret and walter keane.
tim burton, a filmmaker known for his own brand of ghoulish cartoon characters, is taking on the world of wide-eyed artist, margaret keane, in a new movie aptly titled "big eyes.".

NewYork44M ... I'm guessing by the title of the thread that she is no longer a Witness
Although according to this website, she was still an active JW in 2009.

But IS it true that it is no honourable way to leave?
OldHippie ... I don't think I would call your examples honourable or that they really left.
They are never free to be something other than an inactive JW. They must hide what they believe if it has changed from JW theology if they want to maintain ties to JW's.

Are we starting to treat DF people differently?
by Quarterback insome may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.

Ending shunning would be a good thing, but it is hard to imagine that they would do this. Perhaps they will lighten up on family shunning like they did back in the 80's only to flip back again. Who knows, they seem to be image driven at present. But that is a lot of years of family pain to just wipe away with new understanding.
As far as KM being available to DF'd ones ... well, they made it available on the internet for public download. They sound merciful by mentioning that it is available to DF'd ones now ... no sh!t, it's freely available to apostates too!

My Story: from JW Elder to Born Again Christian to Agnostic
by passwordprotected ini first posted here on 3rd june 2008. at the time i was an elder, appointed the previous october, i was 36 and i was a born-in.
at the time i'd become disillusioned with the society due to the governing body's letter explaining why the book study in private homes was being abolished.
april 2008 saw me start questioning this decision, privately of course, and this eventually led me to this site, to jwfacts and to many youtube videos, all of which began to errode my faith in the leaders of the organisation.. in july 2008, having discussed my doubts with my wife, i attended the district convention, deciding to give the society one last chance to convince me it was the truth.

I think this was just another legal issue. The "Congregation" is organized to preach the good news of the kingdom ... period. To label an event as a "congregation" event brings certain expectations and perhaps liability. Some people have a hard time distinguishing between the legalistic jargon and think that this meant no parties or picnics, what it meant was that the congregation did not sponsor them. The corporation doesn't like rank and file to blur the line between the actions of the followers and the corporation. JW's who understand the spin continued to organize gatherings without calling it a congregation event.
