  So was God blessing our country when we ordered genocide against the native americans, built the most robust economy in the world on the backs of african slaves and practiced slavery longer and more harshly than just about anywhere in the world? Was God blessing us when we were filling the churches only to leave and deny the civil rights of others because of their skin color?

  What about now? Is God blessing us when we launch a hellfire missle a decade afte 9/11 half way around the world and incenerate a van full of an innocent family because one guy in the vehicle spouted off some crap about jihad on the net?

  Stopthetears, you are delusional and possibly in need of professional help, medication, or a reality check. We are all guilty as sin individually and as a country, as a Christian I would expect you to accept that first.

  You need to wake up and realize, God isn't take sides in our petty disputes whether we pray like a crooked preacher on TV or refuse to acknowledge him. It is all the same.

  Are They Cynically Shutting Down The Organization?

  i've raised this idea before but recent events seem to support it.

  changes in the watchtower may be guided by more than a need for cash flow: they may simply be liquidating/shutting it down as discreetly as possible.. of course, this doesn't mean they stop working on their upstate ny country club - but it could mean that the throrough going exposure and disproof of their beliefs on the internet, when it emerged, took many of them by surprize, as it did many of us!

  after awhile, they generally gave up trying to make any sense of their doctrines - and coupled with cash flow issues - moved towards a quiet retreat.. take a look at a few things:.

  I have addressed this is previous threads. They are "decentralizing" the command structure. In 10 years they will not have any control over the individual congos. They will simply publish and sell the mags, books, etc.. to the congos that wish to purchase and use them. They will probably school and train circuit overseers, pioneers, elders, etc... and "ordain" them for a small fee of course.

  The congos will be free to join and make confernces or "circuits" and hire the circuit overseer of their choosing. They've ridden this pony as long as they can and they know it.

  Watchtower using MK Ultra/Monarch programming?

  i have always wondered if the watchtower, being a major player in the brainwashing industry, is part of or incorporates mk ultra programming.. for those not familiar with it, project mk ultra was an illegal cia mind control program that apparently still exists unofficially through monarch butterfly programming.

  childern are often the victims of this program, as social engineers and psychological operators found that sexually and physically abusing children produced traits beneficial to the intelligence community, like photographic memory and amnesia (good for carriers of secrets and sensitive information).

  monarch programming also produces candidates for manchurian operations.. anyways, it seems that the cia could definitely benefit by using the watchtower to carry out some of this programming, as the structure of the watchtower kingdom halls makes it easy for predators to abuse kids with impunity.. i did a search on this forum and found at least one person who claims to have been a victim of this, if i am reading correctly.

  No Poppies in America on Remembrance Day

  i was surprised to hear this today.. poppies are not a big deal in the usa .

  remebrance day (also known as poppy day or armistice day) is a memorial day observed in commonwealth countries since the end of world war i. to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.. "in flanders fields" .

  in flanders fields the poppies blow.

  The U.S. is not a part of the commonwealth or under the crown. We fought a war and killed a lot of Englishmen to make that fact happen. It would be very bizarre for us to honor the dead of the commonwealth when we killed a few in order not to be a part of it.

  Wannaexit- Your post sums up exactly why I can't stay around this board. Those few paragraphs make me extremely sad. I don't know you personally and you could be a great or an awful person, it doesn't matter. What does is that you only get one life. You are using your parents who raised you to have poor personal boundaries as an excuse to waste it. You can waste money on someone you love because you can always make more or cut corners somewhere else, but you can't do that with time. On your deathbed you will not be able to bargain for one more minute you wasted in field service, at meetings, and at assemblies. Plus, you are damaging your own mind and spirit. It's like saying I only stay with my abusive husband because my parents think he is perfect and will never understand. Makes no sense... Your parents have had their life and made their choices, what about you? Trust me, they will handle finding out their perfect princess is not so perfect better than you think. They made it this long, it's just a guilt trip.

  Don't get me wrong. I am in a similar situation. My parents are very devout as well, but I have boundaries that I fought for with tears and pain. It's laughable for you to tell me I have so much to learn when you haven't even set up normal adult child-parent boundaries with yours. Do you know of the years I went through struggling to have a normal relationship with my folks. Do you know how much I treasure, guard, and love the REAL relationship I have with them now? No you don't because you have never tried it.

  There's just so many people here in wannaexit's position and they are full of excuses, full of reasons, full of sadness. I don't think I am doing anything here anymore than validating (and now arguing with) their indecision and watching them waste their own life. I could write down 20 reasons for me to GO BACK right now. That doesn't make it right.

  Thank you for giving the board an example of the cause of my great sadness. I hate this eff'n cult.... It's just time for me to forget again now that I have processed so much in the last few years. This isn't shunning or judgement, it's just my personal boundary. I appreciate those of you that have let me explain.

  Sorry if I sounded like a jerk. I feel the way I feel, but I do apologize for sounding harsh.

  However, there is just less and less stuff I can even read on here. I stopped reading the political posts a long time ago, it bores me and I already know everyone's position before they even start.

  I keep hearing over and over again people asking for help dealing with tough situations, spouses, friends, and family in regards to the "truth". They are scared of losing their whole world, which I understand and it's very human. BUT IT'S A FREAKING CULT, CAN'T YOU FIGURE THAT OUT AFTER BEING ON THIS SITE FOR 10 MINUTES? Had JWN been around when I was a kid even at 10 or 12, I would have never been baptized.

  It just makes me sad, to see people so trapped and refusing to man up and walk away. I am not sure where this fader vs. DA argument is coming from. I have never critized anyone for doing either. Personally, I am the biggest fader in the world. I got up and LEFT, I didn't have to justify it, make anyone else feel good about it. I just did it and let the cards fall and stopped trying to control the situation. I CAN'T CONTROL A CULT I DO NOT BELIEVE IN, NOR THAT I DO NOT WANT ANY PART OF.

  I feel like I am just watching some people on here circle the proverbial toliet bowl and it makes me sad. I just don't think I have anything to gain or add to the discussion anymore. I am grateful to all of you, especially Simon, Lady Lee, Jamie Bowers and everyone else that has contributed. I wish everyone the best.

  I am not sure if it's me or you all, but this board seems to be full of more people trying to stay in the org rather than leave it. I have no interest keeping that kind of company.

  ok so my husband still goes out in service.

  last weekend he worked with an elder who is in his late 50's, another brother who is in his mid 60's, my husband is in his mid 60's and the idiot who conducted the meeting put a eight or nine year old girl with them.. i asked my husband why?

  why isnt the Revelation book on the jw website.

  i asked my mother( still very much active).

  she said books made from '86 and before would not be online.

  so we both looked at her physical revelation book and it was made in 88 so it should be there.

  There is so much wrong with the Revelation book it's not funny. Whenever you are writing 4 paragraphs for every one verse you know it's got to be 99% crap. Now it's 20 year old crap.
