  sir82.....isn't it funny how a little tract campaign makes them think they are doing something important? The rest of the world doesn't even notice them! It really is quite silly isn't it?

  Witnesses "can't take the heat"

  have you ever heard a witness say something like "why do apostates have to keep talking about the wts/jw faith?

  why don't they just go on with their lives?

  if they've found something better, why don't they just focus on that instead of us?

  I remember they used to say..."Remember when you first discovered the truth? You wanted to talk about it to everyone and all of the time." The same can be said when you discovered that it isn't the truth.

  You can't stop talking about something that was a huge part of your life. Meetings 3 times a week. FS a couple of times a week. Parts on the meeting. Some were Elders, MS's, and Pioneers. It occupied a lot of their life. In my opinion it would be odd not to speak about it.

  Those that leave the JW's do get on with their lives. The Ex JW's that I know talk very little about their previous way of life. It's just nice meeting here and speaking with people that have gone through the same thing.

  Those that have left in my family have done quite well for themselves. Some have got married, had children, gone to college, bought nice homes, traveled the world, and have good paying jobs. They are very busy in leading nice normal lives. I guess you can say they have moved on and are happy.

  I got a very nice used car recently but......

  i got a very nice used car recently but one thing that i do not like about the car, there are 4 warning visor labels.

  trust me...In a month you won't even notice they are there. I would leave them. Congrats on the new car!

  Interesting phenomenon I'm seeing on Facebook

  it's becoming more and more evident that many young jws just don't care about the wt rules anymore.

  one jw on facebook has particularly intrigued me lately.

  he posts pics of himself sporting (gasp) a beard and uses curse words in his status updates.

  I'm guessing Facebook wasn't even mentioned at the Assemblies in my old congregations part of the country. I've been to 4 Elders, 4 Ministerial Servants, and 3 Regular Pioneers pages let alone the many regular publishers that have Facebook pages.

  Fun meeting with an elder

  a few days ago an elder, old aquaintance of mine visited me (alone, which was my request - props for him for accepting my terms).

  it was quite an interresting meeting.

  this elder is quite intelligent, he is a professor at a local college.

  "why is the majority of the memorial talk dedicated to bringing in more members?".

  "who were the true worshipers of jehovah in the 17 hundred year gap prior to russel?".

  ALl I can say is WOW!! I wish my father was alive to hear that! He was "Super JW" and worshipped the Society and the Governing Body! He hated homosexuals sooooo much!! He liked classical music but couldn't listen to Tchaikovsky once he found out he was gay!! HaHa!! Ridiculous!! I'm just glad my siblings and I never adopted his attitude toward gay people. A good person is a good person. Nationality, Color, Sexual Preference should not matter.

  Man!! I wish I could have let him know about Greenleas and Chitty!!!!!!

  "2 homosexuals to rule as members of the Governing Body"

  I personally have nothing against homosexuals at all but I know the JW's feeling on them. This comment suprised me because I've never heard about it. Who were the 2 members of the GB that were gay? Is it fact?

  What did you think of the American Idol finale results?

  i think crystal did much better than lee as far as performances in the finale.

  also think she is much more talented.

  lee is a great singer and will only get better the more comfortable he gets going big time.

  Well, I must be in the minority. I've liked Lee right from the beginning. I also liked Crystal. To be honest, I think Crystal should have won but I prefer Lees stye. She was much better than him in the final round. I think she is a better singer but I like his voice better. Either way I thought they both were very nice humble people and would have been happy for either one of them. Lee won but this won't be the last we hear from Crystal.

  if any body from usa have visited england i would like to know if you liked your stay.

  what was your experience?

  did you visit while still a dub did you visit any congregations and make any life long friends?

  The wife and I visited London in 2006. Did all the things tourists do. The London Eye, Picadilly Circus, Big Ben and The House of Parliament, Tower Bridge, toured Buckingham Palace, Harrods,Trafalgar Square, and The Tower of London. We hit 12 different pubs when we were there. I know some Americans don't like the food in England but I really enjoyed it! Would like to go back again to see the English countryside. While in the pubs and out and about, we found the people to be very nice.

  i did.. it was a 1975 nova hatchback; i named her blossom.. i traded her in on a 1985 nova which i named gumby; i didn't like him.. thanks for replying.. syl.
