I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean "blue" as in the color blue? Or do you mean "blue" as in "I am curious blue"?

Stephen:
If you will permit me to speak, my Lord tells me, and thus I share with you, that:
Mankind was NOT made ‘in the image of God,’ Adam and his wife Eve were made in the image of God. We, their progeny, were made in the image of Adam/Eve—after they sinned. (Genesis 5:3) As for Jaheshua (whom you call Jesus), well, yes, he is the ‘image of God’; however, note that these biblical expressions (‘image of God,’ ‘exact imprint of His nature,’ ‘image of the invisible God,’ are always used of him AFTER his death, resurrection, and glorification.

How to Pray?
by brotherdan ini've been learning a bit about the early jews perspective on prayer and how it applied to jesus' model prayer in matthew 6. it's facinating to me.
sometimes i forget how important prayer is to the christian in more than just asking for things and thanking god for things.
i wanted to list a few perspectives the jews had on prayer and how we can benefit from it.. fist, they thought prayer should incorporate love and praise.

You all have said some very interesting, kind, and true things. However, let us not forget the words of Our Lord himself, who said:
“You (singular), however, when you (singular) pray, go into your (singular) private room, and after shutting your (singular) door, pray to your (singular) Father who is in secret. . . .”—Matthew 6:6
We must pray in the manner He directed, which is so often different than from what the Jews or our own religious leaders have taught us. Recognize that we have no leaders, except Christ himself.
I am also reminded of what Our Lord stated at Luke 6:46:
“Why, then do you call me ‘Lord’! ‘Lord’! but do not do the things I say?

It's tough learning the truth
by Cook My Socks UK inthis just came to me(after a few jd's).. i need another study!
i was raised a jw as yound child and so have known nothing else(bar a few christmas and birthdays), what i read makes sense but doesn't make sense at the same time.

Dear CMSUK:
What exactly IS IT you want to know? The truth of "things"? Or do you want to know the "Truth"? Remember, the Master said: "I am the . . . Truth. . . ." Perhaps you need to distinguish which of those two things you really want to know. And after deciding which, then you can proceed accordingly.

Watersprout: Il Divo is incredible! Wow!
Snowbird: Love your daughter's comment. Beautiful.
I don't think I've ever heard La Montana or Closer. I'll have to check those out.
One of my ALL TIME FAVORITES is: Pie Jesu, which is a biblical or spiritual song most definitely. Only two people that I know of sing it exceedingly well and they are Charlotte Church and Sarah Brightman. It is an exquisite song in its simplicity. I absolutely love it.

Question about the Word and the Son
by wannabefree inmy question ... is the word of god ever referred to as the son in present or past tense in the old testament?
i realize prophetically god was to send a son.
but before the word emptied himself and was born from woman, was he referred to as the son?

Well . . . I figured, as you asked, the "child" reference and the "son" reference is IN THE PRESENT TENSE; however, what that child/son will become is a "prophetic reference." Whatever. . . .
May Jah bless.

How about Isaiah 9:6:
New International Version(©1984)
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Does that work?

Do you ever or have you ever “spiritualized” secular songs? I find that I have done it quite a bit in my life. I don’t really know why—just recognize that I do it. Awhile back I fell in love the song “Make It Real” by The Jets. I just love that song and in the process of loving that song whenever it was played on the radio, I tended spiritualized it, and by that I mean that I sang it to God and loved God while in the singing of that song heightened by the beautiful music and beautiful lyrics and beautiful voices. It was me with those lyrics pleading with God. This—singing it to God—happened for quite a length of time whenever it was that I heard it played.
Curiously, one day, after having sung it to God for I don’t know how long, I had an epiphany so to speak. In a “moment of time,” while in the middle of my singing it to God I suddenly realized that I wasn’t singing that song to God, but rather, God was singing it to me. Wow! Upon that realization I had a profound awareness of God calling me, pleading with me, with the lyrics of that secular song and not the other way around as I had first thought of it. It made an even greater impact on me than I had originally had after spiritualizing it.
Anyway, I just thought I ask you all the question I did: Do you ever or have you ever “spiritualize” secular songs? If so, what songs?

Make it Real, by The Jets:
Tonight it's been a year
we met each other here
Here I am all alone
as thoughts of you go on
Hear me cryin' out to you
you said, "Never, never would I leave"
Here's a tear from me to you
and maybe it will make you hear me
chorus:
I loved you
You didn't feel the same
Though we're apart
You're in my heart
Give me one more chance to
Make it real
In a dream you are here
You smile and hold me near
And in my heart I'll pretend
that you are here again
Hear me cryin' out to you
You said, "Never, never would I leave"
Here's a tear from me to you
and maybe it will make you hear me
chorus
Give me one more chance to
Make it real -

SBC:
The first thing you should ask them is: "Am I being accused of something"? If they answer, "No." Then the meeting is moot. You can walk away. If they answer, "Yes." Then you say to them: "Who is/are my accuser(s)?" They will hemm and haww. You tell them that you have a right to know who your accusers are (and what the accusations are) and that this meeting will NOT continue unless you hear the accusations made against you from the Accusers' own mouths. YOU have THAT RIGHT! Bring them in. If they say there are no accusers, that this is only a fact-finding inquiry, you can then say to them, "Oh, this is an 'inquisition,' I understand, like the Catholic Church used to do." They won't like that either. You can then let them "inquire" all they want or not. That's up to you and whatever you choose to divulge.
You can also say, I want so-and-so to be here in on the meeting because after the meeting I want to tell them what transpired here and my memory is not all the great so, if they are present, I don't have to rely on my memory so much. This usually works with family: spouses allowed in, fleshly brothers and sisters, etc. That kind of thing.
But, in ALL OF THIS, YOU have to be firm, and knowyourPOWER/STRENGTH. Wishing you the best, SBC.

What's the use of prayer?
by XPeterX inall these years (especially during my adolesence) i have been praying to that christian god (jehovah, yhwh, god, him, yahweh, jah, almighty) but he has never answered a single prayer of mine.i have lived up to his standards wholeheartedly and with zeal and he spits me in the face every day.he left me when i encountered hardships or even minor difficulties even though i gave my full pottential to worship him.i got fed up with his lies and mistruths and my patience has abandoned me.now it's time for me to turn my back on him in return..
