  Hi Farkle,

  This Armageddon teaching of the WT is a mess. They confuse texts with the final test with that of Armageddon. They also confuse texts on the resurrection or being changed when our Lord returns by limiting them only to believers. And many texts in revelation that apply only to the 1000 years are applied early such as the one that "Babylon has already fallen." This cannot happen until after the resurrection if finished and such resurrected ones finally make up their minds. But all I have on all this are some ideas and I have not tried to assemble anything comprehensive. It is a wide open subject, ripe for a really good researcher to tackle. The reason I say all this is because of your number of 99.9%. The scriptures I see indicate a number closer to 50% like this:

  40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

  Not everyone so taken will be of the elect and justified or 'first resurrection' but they will be taken neverthless. This agrees with the teaching of the sheep (which are of the nations and not of the elect, possibly even called angels or messengers in this text) and goats. So WT doctrine is not even close to the realities pictured here by such verses and their followers should take note. It shows that they have no understanding whatever of scripture.

  (yeah, i know, it came out ages ago.

  i was shocked by the amazing similarities between the monsters inc company in the story and the watchtower!

  No! They are simply Antichrist that's all. This is easy to show by what they teach. There is no way they can get out of this scriptural designation at present unless they radically change what they teach.   Oh how mistaken you are. The Watchtower has NEVER preached the good news to anyone since they do not even know what this good news is. Error is not good news and ERROR is the only thing they have been preaching all along. And they still teach such error to the detriment of all that partake of it. Nearly everything printed in all the years you describe is nothing more than TRASH.

  Zechariah,

  Well at least we know that You Know does not know the answer. This is typical since the Watchower does not understand it either and has not been able to explain it. The problem is simple. Here context means a lot and is that elusive element many miss.

  Paul was referring to the then known world and the territories to which he was assigned. The verse is specific in context only to the territories in which Paul was made a minister. You can see this easlily for he emphasized this point when he said:

  23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

  The context of Matt. 24:14 is somewhat greater in that it takes in all nations. Our Lord's reach is not so restricted and would extend over many more years than Paul with far more ministers involved and thus we have:

  14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

  Even in this text not every person needs to be reached. Judgment for most will be based on what they are as human beings, not on what faith or religion or doctrine they embrace. So even here the simple distribution of the bible is enough to fulfil such a prophecy.

  the watchtower society's unusual interpretation of abstaining from blood to include human blood transfusion has several major flaws.

  hello everybody.... i was disfellowshipped about 8 years ago at the age of 19.i was raised in the truth by my mother.my father was a non-believer.i willfully left of my own free will.to this day i still believe it's the truth.i've got a question for all you doubters...if the wts was truly in it just for the money,then why the hell would they be so strict?

  ?if they wanted millions upon millions of members,then why not loosen up the requirements a little?

  ?why not allow gays like other churches?to me,the fact that the organization is growing with requirements as strict as they are says something.and about the child abuse issue...remember ancient israel had some pretty corrupt priests and leaders but jehovah still claimed them as his people.just because the elders fuck up doesn't mean the whole organization is bad,right?anyway if you ask me i place the blame on the abused kids' parents and the elders.why the hell didn't the parents go to the police?fuck the elders.i'll tell you what...if i was in the truth again and a witness touched my 5 year old daughter the last place i would go would be to the elders.i'd be headed straight for my gun cabinet or the police.any thoughtful answers would be appreciated.

  very intresting, can someone here give a comment on the issu, do we have major differenses from masoretic, and septuagintian text, contra what they find in dead see, cave 4, abaout jeremia, read and comment please.. when i show this on a swedish exjw site they dont want to read it,this was propaganda from us men who dont belive in the lord they say, sound very familier to what jw say, whay shall we read what apostates say?, ???.

  after i have read a lot of this here, and evrything bill say, i must say this is a very delicat and difficult issu.

  almost unbelevebel difficult.. i dont want to defend abusers, fare from that, i hate them,and think the best is to take ther balls away, but i think it is important that this not turns out to be a witchunt on men, like it was inn in sweden in the some time ago, some swedeish famus writer say this is the moderm times witchunt.. in 1600 children was turnig inn ther mothers and say they was witch, and they was burnd , who can go against children.. here some social educated peopel find when they ask children, that if they think wery carefull, they must remeber that some have abuse them when they was littel children, we have also some case where fadher was realesd from prison after the children confesd that they was lying.. so this writer say that men is modern times witch, if you understan what i meen.. intresting thaught on a very difficult issu, but i think it is easy that this thing can turn out to be a hunt .. wher even some innocent is condemd.

  this was only my thaughts late inn the swedish summer .

  I do not agree with the 2 witness policy that the JW's have. How many people do you know that would rape anyone in frount of another witness???

  The Watchtowers two witness policy demonstrates to all that they do not understand scripture. I have explained this several times on this board, but it does not seem to sink in. This kind of abuse is a criminal matter not a matter of faith, and today in such criminal mattes the faith has NO jurisdiction over them. The matter must be turned over to civil authorities for prosecution not the elders. Such authorities exist for this very purpose and were created by Christ to serve as such.

  Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

  In times past civil law was also the law of the faith and executions were carried out by religious authorities during such times but NOT now. Such rules did apply then even to giving death sentences. But only in matters of faith such as doctrine do such rules apply today as stated in NT texts. Never should they be applied to such criminal matters as the Watchtower does. Therefore such rules must be understood in context as we are no longer under such Law given to the Hebrews and mixing texts from both the old and new testaments does not work. The application of such rules may sound similar but is not the same as the faith cannot execute or imprison such criminals as it did in times past and justice cannot be administered by such elders. That is why their actions are so obviously evil and visible to all. Joseph
