Did you have a Superiority Complex?

when you were an active witness, you were led to believe that you were saved, and the rest of the world was doomed to die at armageddon, did this make you feel superior to non witnesses?

from that point, did you develop a superiority complex over them?

now that you are out, do the witnesses give you the look as if you are only bird feed?

hello

i certainly felt better than "other" cristians. As we would drive home from the Sunday meeting we would smile at the "once a weekers" (as we called the other churchgoers) leaving church.

I can only feel a sense of personal shame about my attitudes back then to those people. To be honest i never felt superior to anyone other than those people, i just fely sad for them that they were gonna die "real soon".

Of course a true Cristian would only feel love for anyone calling himself a brother till he knew the person wasnt one, but that never stops jw.

Bathroom breaks

i remember watching people so well back when i was growing up and going to the meetings.

one thing as i look back on was the ban on the bathroom.. you just did not leave your seat to use the bathroom.

you went before the meeting started, or after.

hi guys

in my old hall, i used to go out of the hall, down the road and to the sweet shop. These sweety breaks eventually changed the song break into "the sweety break" till a lousy local needs ruined it!.

i still did it though, and its even better to go to the pub afterwards!.

Hey Gang I am getting my brain scanned tomorrow

yup thats right iam going to have an mri on my brain...... i have severe numbness on my left side of my face and no feeing in my hands and arm......i have been hurt in 3 car accidents and have two herniated disks in my neck ( oh i pray that they don't have to do surgery......pray for me )))))) i thought i had ms.... a while back because of the numbness but they said no...... well now i get another scan andgo to see a neurologist ,,,, i hope they find out what the problem is so i wont be on

i posted about a week ago on another forum about a very close friend of mine whom i am trying to get out of the org.

she was baptized when she was 15 and she's now 24. i want to marry her,but i have to get her out first, which i know all to well is extremely difficult.

through extensive research it seems to me my only chance is to get her to read "coc" and "isocf", which she has agreed to do.

my dad died

dear everyone, my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly at the weekend.he did'nt turn up for a family dinner and my husband and i went to see if he was ok.he was dead.collapsed in his home.i can't stop shaking and i feel really sick.i've lost my mum and now my dad too.i wish i could sleep for months and wake when the pain has finished with me.

it hurts so much .sorry to bring everyone down-but i'm stressed at having to sort out his arrangements due to the autopsy and funeral etc and the house and my feelings.

; i just wanted to tell you all as my husband's gone for a walk and the children are asleep and i'm feeling scared about viewing his body, but i know i'll have to and i feel guilty for feeling like that.stupid thoughts racing through my mind at the moment-need to 'hear' a friendly voice .

says that if you think you're going to heaven, think again!

you're probably either emotional because a mate or close friend died, or on medication, or are looking for special recognition, because of bible knowledge.so don't even think about it!!

thanks for posting this.

i just read that article this afternoon, and was struck by its seemingly shameless attempt to discourage people from taking the emblems.

i really think they are running scared of the (n)ever dwindling supply of annointed ones.

still its a good laugh, and works very well as eother emergency loo role, or draft excluder!

she has for the last 10+ years.

even though my mom treats my sister like she is dead she has always been given access to the grandkids.

i hate that your family suffer, and making it worse might not help. try to do the cristian thing and help her see what is wrong.

my sister just moved into my home with her four children.

sadly her marriage has not worked out, and i felt it was the very least i could do to help her.. she is waiting for public housing, and i remembered an old witness freind who worked for the government department who did that.

so like a fool i decided to see him.

She is waiting for public housing, and i remembered an old witness freind who worked for the government department who did that. So like a fool i decided to see him. We havent seen eachother for a few years, but i allways asked about him to mutual freinds, ans sent my love.

Well it seems he has left the cult as well, but when i called on him to ask his advice, he refused me, and told me to go. I brought his kids sweets, but he wouldnt take them either!!!

I have never been treated so unpleasantly, by anyone, and we were once freinds.

It really seems to me that whether you are still a witness or have left the whole thing f,,ks you up too badly to recover. I n future i am keeping away from everyone, and only bothering with people worth the trouble.
