Wanting to talk to my mom
by lostsheep82 inso now that i've read as much as i could in the last 2 months and made my decision that this isn't the organization i thought it was, i'm scared, terrified, and feel helpless in some ways.
my mom is a devout jw, a pioneer, her husband of the 'anointed', and they are very 'spiritually strong'.
i'm wanting to compile a mini book to send to her with all the reasons and proof from wt books and magazines with quotes and stuff.

Worst WT term ever
by Robert7 inmy vote for the worst watchtower term is:.
circumcision of the heart!.
i can't believe that there are people who can not only say "circumcision of the heart" with a straight face in front of the congregation, but defend its 'meaning'.. other runners up in my opinion:.

jeff foxworthy tribute: you might be a jehovahs witness if.....
by kid-A in.
if you wash windows for a living and own 12 suits.....you might be a jehovahs witness.... if you engage in "self-abuse" then pray 3 hours for forgiveness....you might be a jehovahs witness..... anymore?.

you might be a be jw if, you have an affair, then give a special talk about immorality the next day!you might be jw if you think that brothers who touch up the kids are a creation of the apostates.
you might be a jw if your stuck in a door to door sales job, and have never owned a two door car.
you might be a jw if, as a kid you you built a bunker instead of a treehouse. (i did that)
you might be jw if your in a bar and hear someone call last orders, and you tell him to get out on service more and get a haircut.
you might be a jw if all the women in your family have "M,E" and the men have "B,O"
you might be a jw if, you refuse to celebrate Christmas, but have a "special day" on boxing day.

Grace, and JWs
by josephus inim studying a lot nowadays, and am finding the teaching of grace to be really wonderfull.. the idea of god forgiving us so freely, is great.. but ive been trying to remember the jws teachings on it.
i cant ever remember the word grace being used, much less the idea of this teaching.. speaking for myself, all i remember was a deep sense of guilt.
along with the thought that god would never allow me to survive armagedon.. did your halls teach grace ?

did your halls teach grace ? or was mine unusual ?
i understand a lot here are atheists, but i get so much comfort from grace, i am constantly glad ive left the witnesses, and sorry for those still in it.
