Would this be stupid?
by AK - Jeff into just lay it all on the line, tell the whole story right here on jwd, sign my real name and let the world know that i am not any longer wishing to be known as a jw?
aside from a cleansing effect - it would prove just how close the wts is scrutinizing this site.. not that i really have a need to do so - but just wondering about how it would go.
i don't really care what they do to me, to be honest.

why bother? You verbally told them to leave you guys alone. Don't jump through their hoops, it only gives them power.
Do nothing, imho.

There is no graceful way to back out ...
by ljwtiamb ini find it interesting that the chickens have come home to roost for wts.. just as they have allowed no dignified way to exit the org, without disgrace, there seems to be no way for them to gracefully apologize for past (errors???).
just think of the recent mass exodus of faithful that has come about with each major doctrine change.
so many have been ruined by devoting their lives to the gb, that even if there was a sincere effort to correct things, i believe that the vast majority of the current membership would just revolt.. it's just a matter of time before the entire house of cards comes tumbling down.. so, whaddya think?.

The Roman Catholic house of cards have been going on for over 2000 years......so why not the WTBTS?

i have to hate them
by joelbear inhopefully i've given something to someone here over the years.
i know i've taken plenty.. i had to come here, the only place where i can say what i have on my mind and know that people will understand.. i took an overdose of medication on monday.
my long battle with anxiety and depression that is well chronicled on these pages got the best of me once again.

hey ((((joelbear)))) sorry life socked you in the gut again.
It always seems to hit when we deal with our family. The hurt that keeps going on because of a publishing company is just terrible. And you can't just "get over it" because it is not that simple.
Please keep doing what you are doing. You'll find your way.
Hugs,
Joy
ps Merry, wonderful ditty, love it.

Need to give credit to this web site & to Vickie!
by toladest ini did not realize that in my post above about brothers reuniting after 26 years that i failed to mention that it is because of this site that it all happened.. i am scott's wife and i met darrin's common law wife on this board.
neither of us even knew each other existed.
i was talking about dan f and she was here trying to learn more about jw's because of what her man went through as a child.

Dead Relative Due To Blood Policy?

Thank you ((Old Soul)) for your consoling remarks.
It was one of the hardest things to go through, keeping the bastard elders out of ICU away from my dad. I even tried to get HemaPure for my dad. As you know I'm in the medical field and as a practioner I deal directly with other practioners as needed. To have to go through the hoops of the JWs to call the local elders and get a HLC member to call me to answer my questions on how to get HemaPure was very frustrating. Most
janitorsJW's don't realize when there is an emergency, you deal with it immediately, not in an hour or so. The condesending remarks from the "elders" to little ole me, a woman, showed what a good-old-boy-sick-cult the JWs are.IMHO the blood policy is deplorable and too many innocent people die for a man made doctrine.
edited to add: the poor JW rank & file are keep so ignorant by the blood policy not being understood by them. If the R & F JW doesn't understand, well its because the Governing Body are such wonderful, intelligent people. It makes me sick to think that intelligent regular humans don't question why the policy doesn't make sense and leaves it up to some old men to decide their fate for them.

*sigh*
I lost my dad in January 2003 due to the blood policy. His aorta began to tear, they set him up for surgery, but the no blood policy made the surgeon apprehensive. While inserting the foley catherater they punctured the prostate, causing blood loss into the bladder. Due to the no blood policy they postponed the aorta surgery to build his blood back up and find out what exactly was going on with the catherater. 2 days later he ruptured his aorta and died instantly. Had he agreed to blood they would have done the surgery the first night he entered the hospital the doctors would have not waited "to build up his blood" but would have corrected the defect that was occuring.
Then in September 2003 my father-in-law bleed to death in a hospital after his hemmroids ruptured. Yep, you bet the JW family was hovering around making sure he didn't get any blood. They didn't even know he could get blood products like albumin to help.
