  Barb Anderson's Court Hearing Update

  greetings from tennessee.

  thank you for your inquiries regarding the barbara anderson vs. watchtower tennessee appellate court hearing, which took place on thursday, april 14, 2005. accompanied by steve and joy imhof, from panama city beach, florida, and our attorney, jerre hood, from winchester, tennessee, we drove to nashville to attend the 1:00 p.m. scheduled appellate hearing.

  this hearing was requested last year by defendants in the case, and they are: the numerous corporations of watchtower bible and tract society; watchtower spokespersons, j. r. brown, and david semonian, and certain elders of the manchester, tn congregation of jws.

  Thanks for posting this, Barbara.

  Just my 2 cents:

  I thought it was interesting watching the JW lawyer from the "otherside". Boy, was he a walking, talking, bethelite clone. He sounded articulate and had all his court cases in hand to back up his claims. But listening to his content, he wasn't really addressing the issues they had appealed, just blowing their own horn that JW's have 1st admendment privileges. I thought at first the 3 judges were impressed with the JW background but when Ed Bell was done with his explanation of the brief, I think they had a different idea about what the lawsuit was about.

  It will be very interesting to hear what the appelate court's judgement will be.

  You and Joe keep up the good work and excellent example you are setting for all to see.

  Meetup.com is enforcing a monthly charge

  hey all, just wondering what your thoughts are on the $9 monthly charge that meetup.com is enforcing.

  i am the organizer of my ex-jw meetup group, and personally i feel as a volunteer, i shouldn't have to pay anything except my time, work, and devotion for a support group.

  i'll be working on an alternative to meetup.com for my monthly meetups.. how about you?

  my Catholic co-worker today said something to the effect that if they elect a "jewish" pope, that Nortradomis predicted the end of the world papacy would be with a "jewish" pope. I think she is hanging around way too many fundamental Southern Baptists. Everyone is screaming the "end of the world" now. JW's don't have a monopoly anymore.

  opps, forgot to add my joke.

  When the cardinals release black smoke, it means they haven't come to a decision yet.

  When the cardinals release white smoke, they have decided who the next pope is.

  When the cardinals release puffs of grey smoke......it means they are having too good of a time.

  2005 Barbecue Is Definitely On!

  saturday seems to be much preferred over sunday, so this years bbq will be held on saturday, july 9th, commencing around 2 pm.

  location is our home in weston super mare.

  as usual, the day will be very boozy and proceedings will conclude in the waverley pub.

  A study of Galatians

  several months ago, i asked a friend of mine from church to become my "accountability partner.

  " basically, someone that meets with me once a week and we share what is going on in our lives.

  the point is to share joys, unburden griefs, pray together, pray for each other, be brutally honest with each other, study the bible together, etc.

  My favorite version is the old "Living Bible". The old dark green one. It was reading Galations that the light went on and I saw the WT for what it was or should I say was NOT.

  No wonder the WT picks and chooses what verses they refer to in Galations and Romans. *sheeesh* If you read those two books alone, you would see that they WT is not following Jesus's teachings but their own made up stuff. (do more, do more, beat the friends, beat the friends)

  i spent some time volunteering in rhys' class this morning.

  his teacher very excitedly showed me a large package from country woman....full of candy from the netherlands!

  she was amazed at the great cards branda sent along with the candy as well as some maps of her area.
