  i just joined here so i'm not completely familiar with the forum code.

  well, i'm going to be baptized in less than a month and i was wondering if i can find any friends among my peers or anyone around my age.

  I don't think there is an age limit. For a 13 year old you are very articulate and in touch with your feelings. I recommend that you ask your teachers to recommend a book on critical thinking. It may help you as you learn in school and life.

  ive always been the type of person who doesnt like to do things they way most people do things.

  when i think back on what kept me a witness for so long, one is the counter-culture mystique.

  being a jdub, to me was like being a rebellious redheaded stepchild in a way.

  I think Scully summed it up very well.

  It's a bit dicey to label people as "trolls"... it's really no better than the WTS or individual JWs deciding that we are "apostates".

  Obviously we are going to disagree on some fundamental issues with people who are JWs. But if they are willing to enter a dialogue with us - as evidenced by their posting here - then let's try to find some common ground and work from there.

  I bet most honest-hearted JWs would be interested in protecting their children from child molesters posing as JWs in good standing.

  I bet most honest-hearted JWs don't want to have elders who engage in spousal abuse to lead their congregation and present themselves as an example of what a "true Christian" is.

  I bet most honest-hearted JWs are interested in the changes in the WTS's blood policy, and don't want their child or spouse to die needlessly.

  Let's find something in common to discuss with them rather than beat them over the head with prejudicial labels

  The only good thing about Russia is that Crisis of Conscience is available online (in Russian) for them to read. And so is In Search of Christian Freedom. That maybe helping more of the JW's there to wake up.

  i have been reading over the forum today and something hit me.

  because i don't look up everyone's histories, there are people i assumed were either male or female--partly based on their avatar and partly based on the type of comments they make.

  well guess what folks--i was shocked to find out i was wrong about a few people.. does anyone else out there decide that certain posters are male or female, and then find out they're wrong?
