okay, something that has always been a side point but still a rather ridiculous rule is that brothers cannot "serve" if they have a beard/goatee/anything more than just a moustache.
at least in the states, i've heard of some congregations in some countries allow this, but they are the exception?

Here in "southern" Canada, beards are frowned upon, and no serving men have them, not sure about the northern territories. I had this same issue and posted this topic a month or two ago. I grew a mustache, I know it's kind of funny, it's something I wanted to do but honestly I would rather grow a goatee.
Soldier we should do a goatee pact. I think I'll grown one after my district convention with my family in July. After that I don't plan on going to meetings or service much.

Soldier I have a #3 talk coming up next month as well. I think I will actually cancel it and also my enrollment in the school.

We were treated like little children: don't take long bathroom breaks... well unless you have a medical condition but still try not to disrupt others. Bring a bagged lunch, arrive early, dont walk around too much, "fellowship" with others...

i'm not sure if i do or if thinking the idea of living forever as a "good thing" was just something that was planted in my mind like a lot of the other stuff.
is the desire to live forever something that i really want or have i been taught that it is something that i should want?
i know i don't want to die, especially a violent death, but i can't imagine still wanting to be here 10 million years from now just because back in 19xx my parents concieved me.
Of course I would, it is a human need to survive as long as possible. That singular thought is a huge drive for all us, excluding the suicidal. No doubt that compulsion has been twisted into many cooky life-after-death beliefs.
well i figure since i have been posting on this site, i might as well share my little bit.
it's in no way unique or special, it just is what it is.

i cannot for the life of me understand why jehovah's witnesses don't see right through the b.s.
regarding their overlapping generation being equal to one generation.
also, i am a bit perplexed at how little certain jehovah's witnesses know their own doctrine.. take my wife, for instance:.

I never really paid much attention to the generation teaching, as I relied on the idea that no one knows the hour or the day, but that it would come soon. I suppose my mind was clouded by mind control, I just obeyed blindly though some things did rub me wrong internally but where quickly dismissed or attributed to my own weaknesses.
i know there are other topics related to this, i started one earlier similar to this but here goes anyway.. so i skipped a couple of meetings of the co visit to hang out with some "worldly" friends and we went out of town.
i think some of my closer "friends" at the hall found out from my family and now i am dreading going to the next meeting and hearing their encouring "where were you!?"..
it fills me with anxiety.

While re-reading these posts again, making some notes, serenitynows "I was somewhere minding my own business" sounds too amazingly tempting... should I dare? Again they probably already know what I was up to but yeah...
This has really helped, I'm kind of on a bit of a rollercoaster thinking about it. I think I'll just play it off the cuff, I'm starting to realize it doesn't really matter what I am going to say in the end, won't be around much longer.
