Perhaps an upfront discloser like below could be used before the meeting started.

The following phrases may be used to request person's consent:

"For training purposes and your own security your call may be monitored and recorded."

"In order to ensure excellent customer service, your call may be monitored or recorded."

"Thank you for calling America Online. To insure the highest level of customer service, this call may be monitored and recorded."

"All Blue HealthLine calls are completely confidential. However, your call may be monitored and recorded to insure quality of service."

As we see here, the quotes (taken from real life telephone operators) reflect and disclose pretty honestly a purpose of recording a call.

Memorial Invitation official first day today

well it's that time of year again and the invitations to another pointless memorial aka reject jesus party is now in full swing.

even though it's only the first day i'm already more than sick of it!

this is the first year i am fully mentally awake for the memorial season, and honestly i'm so sick of it all!

Something I never realized or thought of before: Discreet vs Discrete

so my whole life i heard the phrase 'faithful and discrete slave' and never paid attention to the real meaning of "discrete".

which is weird, because i'm a bit of a word junkie.

i guess the familiarity of the expression made me mentally gloss over it somehow.

If it was ok... then why keep it a secret? Most Jw that I have asked about this knew nothing and most said it was a lie.

For Me: THE FACT THAT THEY KEEP IT A SECRET (or "forgot" to mention it) to the flock shows that they KNEW they were going against their own teachings (gods?).

Level the playing field... lets all play by the same set of rules!
Your arguments show you to be disingenuous... you know but you don't want to admit it... so you misdirect.

As the saying goes: "It's not a lie if you believe it"

As a JW child, were you afraid to swallow your own blood?

growing up as a jw born-in during the 1980s i distinctly remember cutting my tounge.

i was afraid to swallow my blood, thinking that if i even swallowed one drop i woudn't make it to the new system.

so i kept spitting the blood out.

To Vote or Not To Vote... that is the question.

as we all know voting or any political involvement is a big bad no no in the jw org.

i actually have been a registered voter since i was 18 and was still in the org.

obviously i kept that very quiet until i made my break from the org.

'Observing' or 'Commemorating' the Memorial

Watchtower 2/15/03 What Does the Lord’s Evening Meal Mean to You?

'Since they are not Jesus’ joint heirs with a heavenly hope, they attend the Memorial as respectful observers.—*Romans 6:3-5.'

Romans 6:3-5 Says:

3 Or do YOU not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we were buried with him through our baptism into his death, in order that, just as Christ was raised up from the dead through the glory of the Father, we also should likewise walk in a newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall certainly also be [united with him in the likeness] of his resurrection;

The scripture at Romans 6:3-5 does not back up the thought of us being there as observers!!! How does this go unquestioned...Oh I know but I just had to ask.
Show me one scripture where Jesus sent someone out and said: "go get believers and non believers to observe me making a covenant with you"...AND I WILL GO--respectfully.

We are intruders on this arrangement---uninvited guest--party crashers!
