by frigginconfused inive heard time and time again that the gb does its best because "as we all know" god doesnt talk to us anymore.. so my question is this...is there and scriptual evidence that god has said he will be cutting off all communication to us.
all prophecy is done and the bible is the end all be all?.
unless the bible specificly states that god and the angels are silent then thats a huge game changer.. how is the food gonna be fed to us at the propper time unless we get new communication..

mindmelda That idea of infinite responsability to a God that wont talk to you and give you the answers is JW thinking.
God is loving and mercifull. Do your best. Always be open to truth. Never stop searching for truth. Most of all love your fellow man as you would want to be loved. All will fall in place.
This is where true faith comes from. Not believing in the tooth fairy god, but a real relationship with a God you know and love. You know in your heart if you are legitamatley doing the right thing by you and your fellow man. Have the confidence to know God sees this and is proud of you. Thats faith. Being able to hold your head up high because you know your father approves of you!

never dated while in because i "wasn't ready for marriage", haven't dated since fade because i really don't want to burden my girlfriend with the bull@#% of dating me while i still have to put up a facade of being "just inactive" to my family so they won't shun me.. this sucks.

LOL! Not everyone who claims to hear God are in nut houses! LOL!
I spent some time in the bookstore the other day. Theres many books out there on talking to God or hearing him. They make very sound points.

Things I have heard about California JW's
by mamalove inafter reading the two piece bikini discussion and the comment about calipornea, it reminded me of something i used to hear about the jw attitude in general there.
that it was extremely lax compared to mid west or other areas.. people were supposedly not df'd when they would most definitely been elsewhere, and more "worldy" type of dress and grooming were tolerated well.. is this correct at least in some areas?
if so, do you think it has to do with money, or the general culture there?.

Its all about where the recruit from. Cali is more open to new ideas. They recruit former hippies, stoners, pagans, liberals, buddists, hindus, krishnas.
Out here on the east you have former catholics from up north. Very devout.
And down south you have the uber christian, bible belt nazis!
Those attitudes about spirituality are gonna filter over to any religion they go to.

The GB is guilty of many things. But I dont think they ever say they hear God speak to them.
As far as not hearing it because it doesnt exist. Just because you choose not to listen doesnt make the speaker go away.

Listener Funny they make that point off that scripture. Their reading comprehension sucks! 1 Cor. 13:8-11, reads completley different to me. heres my breakdown...
All prophecy was partial. When humanity has matured and is ready to be a "man" they will come forth with full understanding and complete prophecy. That scripture looks to me like in the last days there will be communication from God.

strymeckirules Yeah theres 2 scritures of the pouring out of holy spirit with dreams in old me and visions in young. seems like the bible is actually saying we will hear from God again.
