How to get baptised properly....
by strymeckirules inwho today is elegible to baptise others?
i want to get baptised.
but i don't know who is doing it properly now a days.. i thought the jdubs were the correct baptisers, but research showed that the jdubs baptise you to an organization, not to god.. i hated the questions, the time period it took to qualify and the whole bunch of crap.. .

Im having the same issues. I want to dedicate my life to God. I have already. But I wish I could find a worthy person to baptise me. Ill know it when I see it though. I was moved how Jesus also pleaded with John to baptise him.

How would the mind handle eternal torture in Hell?
by sabastious infrom what we know of the human brain how would it react to the stimuli of, say, 1000 years of burning alive?
what does a a mind that is used to burning as an existence act like?
would they eventually be able to stop screaming in pain on their own.

You would go insane. Then complete clarity would wash over you and the effects of hell would no longer hold you. But I dont believe in hell. Thats an idea from the dark ages and Dantes inferno. It was used to draw numbers in the church in the same way modern people love horror movies.
There is no punishment for evil. Other than eternal death without ressurection. You can be as bad as you want without fear of hell. Its works out better that way. God dont want people to follow him because of fear of punishment. We should do things his way because we agree and willingly want to do them.

Scooby-Doo What kept the lions from eating Adam was he wasnt human like you know. We were angels in physical bodies. In controll of the elements and earth. Jesus could heal wounds and controll storms. Walk on water. I suspect we had more power too.
Hell if crocodile dundee could do it why not! LOL!

Just one simple question to ask Jehovah's Witnesses about the recent earthquakes.
by nicolaou in"is jehovah causing these earthquakes?".
whether or not jesus said that earthquakes would 'increase', jehovah's witnesses assert that earthquakes are a sign of the 'time of the end'.
the recent cluster of awful earthquakes has only increased that sense of expectancy.. does this mean that jehovah is responsible for these earthquakes?

Black Sheep Theres an answer to that too. It takes the realization that youre immortal and are not constrained by time.

As usuall its a concept of time. People dont get how a timeless being like God interacts with us.
If you look at how God works he uses natural phenom. Nothing really has happened too often in the bible that isnt a natural occurance on earth.
The miracle is TIME! The red sea would have parted weather or not man was ever here. Thats just what the earth does. If you do research you can see that the plauges from Moses day have all happened again in the 80's. Theres video out there of the water turning red and everything. But it wasnt a miracle just a normal earthly occurance.
The miracle is that God knows where mans path will cross over erathly events. On those dates he forewarns us or uses it in prophecy. So God is not causeing the earthquakes. They were always meant to happen. And will continue to happen on thier own waxing and waning cycle. He just knew that in the end times the earth will be nearing the end of its waxing cycle. Thus more earthquakes.
The cool thing about that is it fits for a paradise on earth. tsunamis, tornadoes, earthquakes, and floods are all natural phenom of a dynamic planet. When the new system is here and we have contact with him we will have forewarning. Imagine what a world like that would be.
Everyone in Japan could have got out of thier homes and went to high ground. The nuke reactors could have been secured. There would have been no disaster at all if that were the case. Only a need to rebuild. Wich in a perfect world with no monetary system could be done very quickly.

Just Tell Us In Plain English
by headisspinning inif god has instructions for sincere people why can't he just tell us what they are in plain language?.
he could do that and some people would fall in line and others wouldn't.. if i was god, that's what i would do.. as a parent, that's what i do with my kids.. i am so tired of all the guesswork..
