  another family destroyed by jehovahs happy organization

  as i sit down and type this i have realized that if i could have seen into the future and known that this post would need to be created (for my own peace of mind anyway) i know i would have never given the jws a minute of my time.

  a little background: i have been a jw for 20 years and found a wonderful woman in the religion she was a pioneer when i met her, an elders girl but that did not matter to me , it was and always has been her compassion and love for people that endeared me to her and we have been happily married for almost my 20 year tenure as a jw.

  we have several children one of them is a teenage boy.

  How awful! Good for you that you are helping out. I'm so glad that child has someone to rely on. Perhaps her sister will come around once she sees how you are with her sister. This organization is DELIBERATELY ripping families apart by tearing away the natural affection families have. That is the whole reason they deny holidays - they are times of family bonding. They want people to worship them - not to have loyalty to family. They are despicable.

  I wish you and your family all the best. Keep loving those kids. That will help them more than anything else. They desperately need adult attachments in a proper, caring and loving atmosphere.

  a bit of a long-time lurker and a recently registered account, i thought i'd post my first topic.

  i'm a successful fader, and have recently begun reading the new testament, using a few different translations (nwt included, for comparisons sake).

  Welcome GOrwell! Great to hear that you faded successfully. As to grace - they won't use it because it's hard to flog people under that concept! The translators knew that you cannot make people worship them if all they needed was grace. Hence the exercise faith as well. It all comes down to mind control.

  i just found out that i have breast cancer on thursday (see topic http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/medical/190249/1/i-was-in-the-hospital ).

  my sister has breast cancer too.

  she has had it longer than me.

  Psychic feelings anyone?

  i'm not sure what kind of response i will get from everyone, but i have to ask.

  is their someone out their that was also raised a jw but grew up with "psychic feelings?

  " from the youngest age i can remember having feelings of things or just knowing.

  Very interesting topic. I've always been extremely intuitive to the point that I used to disregard a lot of things because I thought it had to do with demons. I've since dropped that notion completely. I think it has a lot to do with being in tune with what your body is saying and tuning into subconscious goings on.

  How many EX JW therapists are there? Hae you been treated by one?

  i am thinking of getting some more therapy.. i spent a lot on it - ta - in the mid 90s and it made a huge differenct to me.

  i have a few issues to with the dubbies i want to sort - and thought it is prolly a huge saving to see an ex jw therapist as i dont have to waste valuable time explaining the beliefs.. i am concerned there may be a downside to this - transference problems, assuming a level of understanding that is not actually there.. hb.

  Hi guys - this is a question I was wondering too. I think therapy is important - it's very difficult to handle the amount of stress and issues on your own. This is especially the case with spouses and children who are still in and to deal with the issues day to day is awful.

  Lady Lee - do you know of any information packages out there that explain our situation? Have you compiled anything to do with JW specific issues? I would be interested in reading it if you have. I have a project in mind and any information that is already put together would be very helpful. If you would like we can discuss my ideas via PM and/or telephone. I'm going to be putting together some information soon and any assistance would be much appreciated - especially considering your expertise. Thanks so much!

  i'm new to the forum, though i had been a lurker for quite some time now.

  i studied w/ the witnesses for a number of years, to be specific, for 10 years (since i was a child) but never actually became one; though, i was counted as one in the yearbooks as a "publisher.

  " so, as far as i got was as an unbaptized publisher.

  Kurtbethel: Agreed!!!!!! I've been thinking the same thing! Children exposed to such explicit material are sexualized at an early age and more prone to abuse at the hand of trusted adults.

  This whole article is sick! It's about homosexuality?? It's child abuse, molestation, pedophelia! They persuaded him to go to the police? How about taking him there! The guy should have been disfellowshipped immediately and everyone warned. That poor boy! I guess if it was a girl it would have been okay. Sick pigs.

  ...Weird Ass Lights in the Sky...

  good evening jwn!!...

  as most of you know i live in a forest,in the mountains..at night there is very little light pollution... so the sky is one big theatre screen... i see shooting stars,northern lights,satellites,planes on a destination..it`s all very beautiful... tonight was different... .

  tonight there was something in the sky that defied anything i`ve ever seen... it had multiple aircraft lights but not like regular airplane lights..it wasn`t a helicopter... it could go straight up or down... move in one direction then head in another..it could do all kinds of weird stuff... sometimes it just hovered..then start doing all these weird maneuvers... regular aircraft is going somewhere,it`s headed in a direction..not this thing... i watched a regular airplane pass it... .
