  i hadn't really heard any "oh my what a blessing, are you pioneering in april?

  Lol at Jambon1. That is so true! I can remember every year there were always a few wierd, bewildered and slightly deranged looking people who would be brought to the memorial by overzealous auxilliary pioneers, possibly attend a few meetings after the memorial then disappear, never to be seen again. I'm sure most of them hadn't got a clue what was going on

  for all those here who who saw and may have met fred franz.what would he say about global warming, facebook twitter, the death of mitcahel jackson since mitchael was a witness.what would he say about lady gaga, justin biber, usher and emeniem.how do you think he would have reacted to the events of 9/11 and bible prophecy.would he see it as true signs of the end.. so the overall question how would fred franz respond to the 21 st century with it's advanved technolgy and war on terrorism and the economic crisis that this country (the u.s) is facing.please tell us your thoughts..

  You'd honestly think the very last straw would be the false date of 6,000 years of "human existence" ending in 1975 would have ended Fred Franz's career and his reputation---but, it didn't!

  No, it just ended any hopes of a career for thousands of JW children growing up in the 1960s/70s, who are now reaching retirement age without a pension. Myself included.

  What I find really funny about that illustration is that the guy is offering a huge rock that must have cost the best part of a year's wages, but can't be bothered to buy a decent bunch of flowers! I mean, come on - they look like they were picked from someone's garden on his way to the office! Even a single red rose would have been better than that.

  Another thing, isn't it a bit of a coincidence that the sister was studying about the dangers of becoming unevenly yolked one minute, then the next thing she knows she is being subjected to an impromptu proposal by a work colleague. Thank goodness she had studied her Watchtower earlier which had pre-warned her about the dangers of men jumping out in front of her with engagement rings so she could be ready with her hand raised in a stop sign!

  tell me if i am crazy, but i think the human race is ignoring something extremly simple.

  when we go outside on a cloudless day... we all seem to ignore the giant burning ball in the sky.. think about it.. the sun truly is the bringer of all earthen life; without it's effects we would all perish.

  did you know we have never sent a probe to the sun?

  pretended not to see me, dropped her her head and moved very quickly in the opposite direction.. i love being a dangerous apostate!!

  What Amelia said. Shunning is one of the most unpleasant, cruel and UNCHRISTIAN practices imaginable. I actually pity the 'sister' who probably was terrified that demons would come flying out at her if she as much as said 'hi' to you.

  JRK I really do sympathise with you, I know how difficult it can be trying to do the right thing for your Mum. If she raised the subject herself that is a different matter to you raising it, and all I can say is, pick your words carefully and if she gets distressed or refuses to acknowledge what you are saying just let it be and go and pour yourself a stiff drink or something. Take care

  I'm afraid I have to agree with lamallcool. My own mother is in her 80s and I am constantly biting my tongue to stop myself from saying something every time she states as fact that ALL the WT's Bible's predictions are coming true, and the end is very close now. She has waited patiently for so many years for armageddon and lives for the day she will be reunited with Dad in the resurrection. It would be extremely cruel to try to shatter her dreams at this stage of her life, it would break her heart and I could never live with myself.
