I have had a beer once or twice in my working career during lunch, but not often. It is not advised where I currently worked, as in don't get caught with alcohol on your breath or come back from lunch sloshed. But it isn't recommended.

Is it socially and professionally acceptable to drink a beer during your lunch break?
by miseryloveselders ini've been watching my alcohol intake for dietary reasons.
i've been limiting my consumption to a small half glass of vodka, or a shot or two of bourbon.
alcohol just doesn't do well with the gains i want to make working out.

DMCA Complaint from The WatchTower for links to KS-10 'Shepherding' book
by Simon inyes, that's right, they really do not like people being able to read that book so they wanted links to it removed (it appears they have also been going after the hosts of the content itself as well).. unfortunately, i had to removed the links (which were dead anyway when i checked) and i'd ask that people don't re-post them (sorry).
i'm sure there are lots of alternative ways for those with the information to get it to those who need it.. here are the discussions on the book:.

OMFG! BrotherDan! I'm laughing so hard I'm crying!
But yesterday he said, "Go get me a juicebox, beeeooootch!"
If I heard my son say that I would have a hard time keeping a straight face! That's just hilarious!

I thought this quote from bane was funny:
In Jehovah´s eyes a day is a thousand years. So 35 years is nothing to him. It still is soon. Jesus said it was soon and that was 2,000 years ago. It will be any day now.
So any day now according to Jehovah right? so that could be a thousand years from now or more? ROFL! Someone should knock on the GB's meeting door and say, 'psst! Hey, guess what, Armageddon IS any day now, but it's any day according to Jehovah's day.'
lol!... oh man what failed logic.

Well, the way I look at it is, if someone that is an active JW came up to me and said, hey Soldier77, I would give him the look like, what you gonna do about it? I wouldn't give myself up or confirm, but I would just play along, pardon me? What did you call me? Where did you say you saw this name that you think I am? Ohhhhh, sorry, never heard of that name... but you were on a apostate site huh? Do your elders know about this?

Dating a JW for 3 yrs
by justbreathe825 inmy bf and i are thinking on getting married.
i posted a foum early this week on whether or not i should get baptized.
i decided not to.. now even though he says he "doesn't care" he got upset last night when i mentioned the subject and how confused i was.

This is just my opinion, but I would run. The day you get married will be the day your life goes from a little bumpy, to all out hell. He will enforce the 'headship' arrangement and start making you go to the meetings out of guilt or direct coercion. He is spineless, he listens to mommy and daddy instead of listening to his own heart/mind and you. You are third rate at best with him.
So the question is, do you really want to subject yourself to this oppression for this guy? Is your 'love' so blind that you can't see the trap that you are about to walk into?
I wish you the best, I hope you can do what's right for yourself first, it's obvious your bf is not looking out for you.
