Special Assembly: CO admits the grip is tightning.....

what im about to post is the exact words from the co during the last talk of the most recent special assembly day.

even though im out i still try to keep up with what is being said just cause i find it interesting, and alot of stuff i find funny, but this stuff is starting to get scary, and i fear for my friends who are still in.

I wonder when my SAD was... I haven't heard of it being scheduled... of course haven't been to a Thursday night meeting in over 6 months and they dont announce anything on Sundays when I show up once a month.

Not that I would go to it, last SAD I didn't go for half of the session. It's shit like this that makes me appreciate not going.

Anyway, I think most of us said that the grip would be tightening and it sure is. Sounds like the rhetoric and propaganda is being taken to the next level. The insanity level.

a couple years ago i wouldnt have even fathomed the idea of joining a forum like this.

just want to say that i appreciate the free flow of ideas, and the open mindedness of most members and the intolerance of suppressed and unsupported ideologies of jw's and anti-jw's as well.

A year ago I came across this site and read about a page worth of topics, then thought, I shouldn't be reading Apostate stuff! But what I read was logic and people that have gone or are going through similar situations as me. About a couple months later I came back and start reading more and more... then I signed up and wow what a ride! Great info here and I opened Pandora's Box and it can't be closed! I love it!

Thanks all for the great experiences that have helped me this year.

Did you play tackle football as a good little JW?

in my town we did.

each congregation had its own "pick up" team.

we would get together and play on a chosen sunday after the meetings.

Yes, played tackle football, got a screw in my finger holding my tendon in place to prove it! Someone always got injured when we played, usually I was the injurer not the injuree, except that one time...

Basketball was worse though, we would rent a GYM every Sunday night and have about 6 congregations participate. About 50 people were there on average. Elders, MS's were there too, they were the worse offenders! I've seen more elders and MS's in fist fights (no shit) than anyone else. The CO came through one year and shut it down. After he left it started back up again and the fights resumed.

growing up in the fifties and sixties, stories of demonic possession were prevalant in the watchtower and awake.

i was terrified.

we were told they would bother you if you were faithful, but also if you fell away.

I don't fear demons. If they are around, which I'm sure they are, they have bigger fish to fry than me. I mean, seriously, they were once angels or something to that effect right? I'm interested in asking them the truth about the whole 'challenge' that Satan made against Jehovah. What really happened etc. I mean the truth from a demon is the same as truth from an angel. Truth is truth!

But yeah, heard a lot of 'demunz' stories growing up, to me it was all superstition. Maybe they don't mess with me because they don't see me needing to be converted to seeing the truth about this world.

Who knows, I don't care, I'm not afraid of Jehovah, Satan, his cohorts or anything mystical. If they want to tell me something, they should just come out and say it.

I too believe in the Google God. I've found answers to practically everything I've typed into its search engine. Need a manual for a certain product, type in product name + manual = BAM! Downloaded. Want to know what the Gnostic Bible is? Type it in, BAM! There you go Google Docs has it online. Need a currency converter? Translator? Need medical advice or questions to ask? WebMD to the rescue...

No Need For EdenTree Unless God Knew An Angle was...

no need for eden tree unless god knew an angle was...going to try and foil his purpose for other life forms.this has always not added up for me.

there is really no reason for the tree (s) unless god knew that he had angles that were already bad in their 'hearts'.

so the questions i have on this are.... were the angles tested to see if they would remain faithful?were humans created to be the test for the angles?was it was 'fair' to have spirit creatures (millions of years old?

But the Snake aka Satan didn't lie did he? Adam and Eve did NOT die that day that they ate from the tree of knowledge and the God of the NT expells them from the Garden why? Because he was afraid that Adam and Eve would become like him! (I wish I had the scriptural quotes to add, sorry at work).

The two trees in the garden of Eden:

1) The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad

2) The Tree of Life

Can someone tell me why there was a tree of life if "God" created man to live forever? What is the purpose of planting a tree of life if you're already created to live forever? Sounds like we weren't created to live forever from the start and if Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Life then they would receive life eternal.

Sounds like the demiurge that created this world was fallible and not God Almighty. He didn't create perfect beings. Everything in this world consumes and destroys.

Sorry, I've been reading a lot about Gnosticism and the gnostic bible again....

Got "THE letter" ....how to proceed?

my husband and i faded/mysteriously disappeared from meetings over a year ago.

we've had a few visits from elders (where we said very little but thanked them for their time), the last one being when we had some nice jack o lanterns sitting on our porch.

on saturday, we got letters cordially inviting us to our beheading, i mean, our judicial committee meeting.

I don't understand people that blatantly put up holiday decorations for all to see and then come screaming here on advice as to what they should do when the elders ask them to attend a JC about the offense.

I get you no longer want to be a part of the JW cult, good, but you say that you don't want to be DF'd to associate with the family and friends that you're still close to. If you want to play by their rules, i.e. stay away from being DF'd then you need to play by ALL of their rules or at least don't be so public with your displays of rebellion.

Plain and simple.

IMO, just leave, sounds like you aren't hanging out a lot with those still in, so what's it matter anyway?
