THE BETHELITE'S REVELATIONS!

Hmm... I think there is some truth in there. It's a bit sensationalized and stretched at a lot of points. But I know a couple 'ex-bethelites' and they say that bethel isn't what it's all cracked up to be, there's a lot behind the scenes going on. Shady stuff.
If half of this is based on truth, then like we've all been saying of late, the grip is tightening and it will get worse sooner than later.

9 months into my fade... how things are looking so far...
by gutted inso for those that care or are in a similar situation just wanted to give an update how things are on my end as far as fading 9 months in.. april of last year i found out the truth about the truth, took one night of googling and the walls came tumbling down.
then i read read crisis of conscience, combatting cult mind control, first part of in search of christian freedom and eventually captives of a concept.
my last ever "meeting" was the 3 day convention in july of last year i attended with my family, i posted about it and just how utterly frustrating it was.

gutted! Happy New Year bud!
Thanks for the update, glad you're doing well and sorting things out on living a real life. I'm proud of your dedication to NOT go back. I always seem to get sucked in at least once every couple of months, although I haven't been to a Thursday night mtg for 9 months...
You'll find a great girl soon! How soon? No idea, I won't predict dates like the WTS. lol.
Take care and keep up the progress!!

I just finished Crisis of Conscience today....
by dontplaceliterature indisclaimer:.
i really hate to hijack this thread, but i wasted my one 24hr post on that window washing thread last night.
i don't think i'll have an opportunity to post this up here if i wait, and would like to get it done before the weekend.

Yup, loved reading the book myself. Glad I did. Great stuff.
Just the comment made by Ed:
"When questioned about the organization's forming of rules, [Ed] stressed that the Christian is not under law but under undeserved kindness (or grace). He said that faith and love were greater forces for righteousness than rules could ever be. Robert Wallen said, "But Ed, I like to have someone tell me what to do." Having in mind the apostle's words at Hebrews, chapter five, verses 13 and 14, that Christians should not be like babes but like mature persons "who through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong," Ed answered, "Then you need to read your Bible more.""
Is so true. From the top down the WTS (GB/FDS) treats its members like idiots, second rate citizens and children. We are told we need to wait on the FDS (GB) and take their word as from God. It's utter bullshit... I can't even follow through with my thought, I'm so disgusted with the WTS.

Did You Ever Fink On Another Witness?
by minimus indid you ever tell the elders that you knew of "wrongdoing" or that you knew a certain person wasn't adhering to the rules?.

"Any organization that requires its members to spy on one another and report each other is destructive, IMHO. This is not normal, adult behavior, it's one hallmark of a high-control group. "
You nailed it LeavingWT!

Some observations from the KM Elder School I wanted to share with you.
by miseryloveselders inmy school was a couple weeks back, and it was interesting to a degree.
to be honest with you, it reminded me of a police crime scene investigation with yellow tape.
what i mean is, in one respect it was business as usual.

THE APOSTATES WERE FINDING FAULT THAT THE DISCUSSION OF THE WATCHTOWER WAS ABOUT A MAN WHO WAS AN ADULTERER AND A MURDERER, AND THEY'RE RIGHT UNTIL YOU REALIZE THEY MEANT KING DAVID.
Uhh... hate to break it to you Ramrodrigues, but King David WAS an adulterer and murderer! I mean really? Really? Is this guy retarded or what?

do single jw live ascetic?
by varian init s often not imaginable for me, to think that single jws live a life of abstinence.
i mean at the end of the day we are all humans with desires and wishes.
most singles are not trained to be like monks from tibet or stuff.. so what s the secret behind it?
-
Soldier77
so what´s the secret behind it? prayer maybe?
Find a worldy girl/guy and have fun. Theocratic Warfare Tactics™ - do not give information that the person doesn't need to know. They don't have any right to know either, it's none of their damn business. Oh and that's not lying either. If they ask a specific question, use their own tactics on them, distract, divert and divide.

Should BrotherDan Be Encouraged To Stay Or Go?
by Scott77 ini, for my part, strongly encourage brotherdan to stay here on jwn and to the extent possible, contribute as needed depending on his schedule.
i value his thoughful posts.
please, type and post, 'yes, i agree' or 'no, i do not'.
-
Soldier77
There is no question if he should or should not. Let him come and go as his pleases. This board serves its purposes differently for everyone, if he feels it's served his and it's time he moved on, so be it. I like BroDan and enjoyed his postings regardless of which way his belief system leaned.
None of us have the right to tell someone else if they should stay or go here. If that were the case, lets block all the apologetics too, they're the ones that this question should be asked.
... just my opinion of course...
