That is hilarious! On a side note, isn't posting people's names on a website like that without your permission illegal? They are basicly slandering your name. Not that some or most? would care? But just saying, at least here we don't "out" anyone.

what are the titles currently being usined for the congregational elders?.
"presiding overseer" was one title that was used for a long time, but i know that was changed awhile ago.. are they even called "overseers" anymore?.

Accounts Servant - MS usually. If no MS's are available and elder will do it. But typically, this is an MS role.

PO now CBoE (Coordinator of the Body of Elders) Only title to have changed recently.... been like 5 years or so...

But I have been inactive for a couple years, so maybe they changed it again?
what with the very low baptism rate, many leaving, many waking up and staying in for now, but not "zealous" any more, the wt/jw religion/scam is without doubt moribund.. i do not foresee a sudden end to the wt but what will it look llike in ten years time ??.
the late teens/early twenty year olds of today will i think be very thin on the ground as 30 year old jw's, so my view is that in ten years time it will be mainly old hardcore ones ,50 yr old and up, and even they will be aware that the org.

Ten years from now? Hmm... well, look at how fast mobile internet devices are gaining marketshare. Even in third-world countries. People are carrying around blackberry's, iphones, ipads with data plans, android tablets/phones etc. The internet won't be the death of the WTBTS, but it will continue to bleed it's numbers and give exposure to them.
Now what I see happening...
The current Conti case goes through it's appeal process, losing, the gain even more bad press, and more money to pay the damages. In the meantime, more people will come forward with abuse cases, possibly another Conti, maybe a couple more than that. These will be huge hits to the WTBTS warship.
Growth will come to a drip. Not even a trickle. Western countries will start having its growth stop and reverse. I can see them hitting 8 million and hover for a few years while more abuse cases and gaffe's continue to blow holes in their ship.
I could also see them getting taxed in this time. Another financial hit.
Another change to blood transfusions. New light stating it's a conscience matter. This would be a huge hit to their ship as well. Lot of fallout.
I see a huge doctrinal change coming. Either with bringing in a new GB member that is charismatic and or the three "commanders" of the GB sticking the ship into overdrive, more hardline, more paranoia, more propaganda per usual.
The change to DC/CA will happen in the next 5 years I think, 2 day DC, 1 day CA whether they keep the SAD or not doesn't matter but I see that going away in ten too.
Everything is now downloaded to your tablet and bring that to the meeting to study along. Maybe some app for tablets from iTunes or Android market that lets you download and donate all through the app store. This allows selling of the print machines and only keeping enough to print for the 3rd-world countries.
Conventions/assemblies are now only in assembly halls. No public venues.
I also think WWIII will happen sometime in the next ten years, throwing some serious "trials and tribulations" for the witnesses.
1. have an apostate food truck outside with free burritos and shasta cola.. 2. wear a smurf costume and run across the stage.. 3. bikini car wash across the street.. 4. have an old-school breakdancing session on the corner, cardboard and all.
bonus if you do it on a mat made of watchtowers and primary colored book covers.. 5. have a garage sale or flea market in the neighborhood during the afternoon session.. 6. sit in the audience and applaud everything that anybody says - try to get a standing ovation for each sentence of the closing prayer.. 7. put a recording of rap, heavy metal, or other forbidden music on instead of the kingdom melodies.. 8. get fifty of your friends to walk around in the stadium during the session, holding signs that say, "louder please!
" and "take your shirt off!
Bring a device that will cause feedback to the sound system. It will have to be programmable to change the frequency once they correct it. You could mess with it during the drama, keynote address, any part you feel like screwing with. After constant assault on their ear drums, people will start getting up and leaving.

the last 5 or 6 years of me being a jw, i did not have a very good go of it.
one thing i actually did enjoy was going to the international convention.
Well, this is more of a two part question.
1) What did I enjoy about being a JW religiously?
and
2) What did I enjoy socially being a JW?
1) Hated it. Horrible way to raise a child.
2) The instant group of people to hang out with. Like someone said, easy social capital. But once they made the statement that JW's are not a groupd used for "socializing" or something to the effect, and when they got rid of bookstudies at the homes removing "goodie night" - it all went to shit socially.
In fact, I have better friends that are so called "worldy" than any JW friend I had. When the first thing they will talk about is your status in the organization after not seeing you for a while, you know something is terribly wrong with them.
are there any active elders/ms or higher out there who can advise if one of the requirements for appointment is that the person's fs time is equal to or greater than either the congregation's average or the national average?
this used to be the case, but may have been relaxed.
also is the branch still approving appointments?
Haven't read past the second post, but just some of my experiences as I've been in several congregations in several states and in two other countries besides USA.
Stateside it was at least the national average, but if you were "encouraged" to do 10.
Two other countries it was national average, no stress on 10 although some elders liked to keep that as ammo to use on you to get you to "do more."

That phrase is one of the core tenets that have drove me away. Because of this saying, the abuse, lies, deceit, hypocrisy, corruption have all heard the term, "wait on jehovah".
This god jehovah is one sick god if anything the WTBTS says is true, which they aren't, but it also makes me not believe a word those people have to say. They are the sick and corrupt, corrupting peoples view of a god that doesn't exist. Or does, and they're just worshipping some sick god...

Sarah Palin's 15 minutes of fame have long been over. She is just unimpressive in her intelligence, or lack thereof, her grasp of international affairs is dismal, she didn't even finish her first term as governor of Alaska.
Although not that it matters, no matter who sits in the Presidents post, it's just a puppet position.
