The mind control is in force with that text. They bring out a scripture that says "we are dust", meaning, you're not worth the air you breathe but we as the Faithful and Discreet Slave will tell you how to live your life through our bullshit publications. Then bring out that Jehovah doesn't expect us to be perfect, but yet Jesus says that we must be perfect as our father is perfect, obviously, they like contradicting themselves or at least go beyond what is written.

Then they finish up with my pet peeve word they overuse, evidently. Right. Absolutely no sense whatsoever. Of course, you say that to a "faithful" dub and you get the response, "you just lack faith, let the Faithful and Discreet Slave guide you and you shoul follow their spirit directed understanding."

Uggghhh..... I think I just threw up a little....

I will have to say Rachel (AIW) that you bugged the crap out of me in the beginning, but now I'm starting to see that you are looking for answers to justify your beliefs? You are here for one, which is a known "apostate" site, which means you are looking for answers where you shouldn't (says the GB) which you are defying (good for you) to get the "other side of the story" as it were.

Now I don't agree with all the copying and pasting you do, but I see some of you're personal comments in there at times. Anyway, not much to say on your topic other than I was DF'd, twice and my mother and grandfather regularly talked with me, ate with me, associated with me while I was out. Grandfather was an elder (deceased now) mother was "in good standing" as well. You said that you talk to your DF'd mother, I take it you are still a witness, active/inactive and not disfellowshipped or dissasociated yourself? Then by you talking to your DF'd mother proves that you do not believe in the WBTS teaching of shunning. By that inferred fact, you do not agree with shunning. By that inferred fact, you do not believe in "some" of what the WBTS teaches.

That's a good start. The more you dig and the more you research the more you will start to see. The truth about the truth, the real light.

If the WBTS is right, than I rather die and not live in their fairytale "paradise earth" being run by the old codgers. 130 years of failed prophecy = false prophets, and we all know what the bible sayd about false prophets.

Jesus said HE is the way, the truth, the life. Not some organization. That's bible fact, that's truth. Everything the WBTS teaches is a lie if not an outright lie, it is false. 1914 teaching? Jerusalem destroyed in 607 BCE? 144k literal but the rest of that verse is symbolic?

Falsehood. The WBTS has sinned against the spirit by invoking that they are god's sole mouthpiece to humans today. Let them burn.

That's a funny comment, always has been everytime I hear it. Why? Because I look at all of the miserable people in the KH sitting there thinking they are better than everyone else, or on meds, should be on meds, angry, unhappy, not convinced this is the truth but still in because of family...

I say that the org is a very unhappy and miserable place. If it was the true religion and supported by God, wouldn't you think people would be happy? I see a lot of fake happiness and doomsayers when I step into the KH.

I truly believe that the "green handshake" is the way to get noticed and "promoted" by the CO. In all of the congregations I've been in, which is quite a lot, every PO (now CoBE) has been one of the more affluential or wealthy elders in the congo. The congo I'm in now has a multi-million dollar Coordinator. That is an exception, but most of the rest I know have their own businesses.

When the CO came by a couple months ago, a brother came up to me and asked about giving the CO some money. I said, "oh you mean a green handshake? Nah, he chose to do this job and live a life of poverty, let him rely on Jehovah." (I said that with a smirk). He just gave me that look like, what the hell? lol

What gets me is that God created us with free will, our own intelligent brain, yet when that interferes with his sovereignty (aka Adam and Eve's disobedience and Satans challenge) he punishes us. Those that are born AFTER the sin was committed. So we are suffering for someone else's mistake.

Also, didn't God think that if he were to give us free will that there will be those that rebel and do their own thing? I mean look at the angels... (if that is even a true story) a third of them rebelled against God. But these were given free will as well. You would think that after creating the angels and letting them live for who knows how many gazillion years before we popped on the scene that he would have seen that free will was going to lead to rebellion at some point?

Or maybe this is all an experiment on his part? This is the only reality I know and that we all know, maybe this is all we get and he is up in heaven shaking his head watching us being lead to believe that we will someday live in some utopic paradise.

Or maybe when we die we do go somewhere else other than fertilizer. Who knows, but I need to start living my life as it is probably the only life I live.

i've had a question for quite some time but haven't been able to find an answer.

the two watchtowers in the subject line have article describing how the governing body of jehovah's witnesses differs from a legal corporation.

in the articles it explains how the governing body uses various legal corporations around the world as legal administrative tools for producing and distributing literature, and for administering theocratic order over the flock of jws.. my question remains: what legal authority does the gb have over the corporations?

I believe that the corporate side of the WBTS (board of directors, presidents, treasurers, etc) runs the business, i.e. buying property, printing supplies, shipping, distribution etc. While the GB are the ones that direct what is printed. Legally, I don't think they have any power whatsoever.

But that's just my understanding, it's probably flawed, so I hope someone clears it up since I would like to know the facts.

Where I live it is almost encouraged to go out and have a good time. I've seen and been with witnesses getting shitfaced drunk Friday night, only to go out in FS the next morning hungover. A couple of times the partying got so bad that it was reported to the elders... elders shrugged it off. Why? Because the same damn elders were caught shitfaced drunk the weekend before!!!

I shit you not. No, I will not tell you where I live!

edit, I was always part of the shitfaced partying too and you would be surprised by the amount of so called witnesses that indulged in public.
