ever since i was a kid, i felt so lucky - so lucky (i know, i know) that out of all the religions in the world, i happened to be born into a family that practiced the one true religion in all the universe.

it seemed much to good to be true, but i always thought it was such a happy coincidence.

my immediate family and grandparents were jehovah's witnesses.. .

Sojourn, HUGE WELCOME!

Your story resonates with me, I too was DF'd twice, and I just never felt that I "fit" in after going back that second time. I tried to "reach out" for a 2 year stint after being reinstated, got assignments and "privileges" just short of an MS. But then something happened, something in me said, wait a minute, this is wrong, this focus on the organization is the only reason for worship here, not worshipping god or jesus.

Overpowering feeling to know all the answers

right now i am feeling this immense weight that i need to be able to refute every single wbts doctrine/belief/organizational procedure etc.

i feel i need to know this not for myself, i already know the org is bullshit, but to see how i can help others or if i'm questioned by family/friends.

i'm in the process of reading in search of christian freedom and it's good to see the difference between the first century "organizational structure" and how it is today in the org.. perhaps as stated by other posters i am still in the mindset that i need to "convert" people to my new way of thinking.. have you guys felt like this, or still feel like this now?.

I guess it's normal because you've lived your entire life believing everything handed to you by this group but when you do realize that one thing, or a couple of things, is wrong, then you have to know - just how much of it was right at all? Was everything I believed a lie?

So, you analyze and dissect everything printed and said.

Undercover, You said it perfectly, these questions are the ones going through my head at this time.

gutted, we must be going through this at the same time, every one of your posts about your situation feels like I'm looking at the mirror. I too am having that feeling of having to know all the answers, not to justify my position, but to be able to sit with my close family and friends and show them and explain to them what I know.

The dilemma I'm facing is right now do I even give a shit to try to explain this all to people I love dearly, because when it comes down to it, 90% of these people are going to flip the switch and shun me if they find out I no longer believe in the bullshit coming from the WBTS. Or do I give a shit and try to stay "in" as long as possible to try to get them out. I don't think I can do that, I can't live in contradiction, lies and hypocrisy. It makes me ill.

Just talked to a brother in the service department and he hung up on me!

ok so last sunday was my last meeting.

i have been in contact with the service department over this problem with the child molesters in my hall, i have written many, many letters begging for help, i have gotten nothing for help from them, but to wait on jehovah and pray more study more, etc.

so i want them to know that they they win they have weeded me out from the "truth" i am a bad seed from satan as i cannot abide by how we handle child molesters.

LITS, hang in there, I know the rage that you're feeling, well at least similarly, as I've been through the abuse and been shut down by the WTBS because of the "two witness" rule.

That took courage to call the service desk and you should be commended. If they DF you or decide to call it DA, whatever, at least you can live with yourself and sleep at night. You have every right to feel the way you do.

egg and i were treated out to dinner three times last weekend by out of state visiting relatives.

just found out last night that they don't believe in tipping, at all!

we suggested the places to eat and frequent those places ourselves.

I tip, always. My favorite/regular places always start with 20% and if I get a server I know or had before and they remember me, auto bumped to 25%.

If I go to somewhere less frequented and the service was piss poor or I just didn't like the place, I start with 15%.

But I never go below that. The hospitality industry is hard work, they get paid shit other than tips. Plus if you go there often and tip in the 20-25% range the service seems to get better, I've actually been bumped ahead of the waiting line at the most frequented places I dine at.

If you have questions, fire away! I'm sure you will get responses by people here. As Awake & Watching stated, go through the "Best of" section to get a base started. Jehovah's Witnesses are are high control group aka mind controlled cult. Be careful falling for their love bombing and baiting.

i received a call a few hours ago from an elder.of course he didn't call me to ask how i was or if i needed help.instead he told me that "the youth and some older brothers" of my congregation will gather (at another elder's house,you see 2 elders to "get a hold of the situation") to talk about the "internet,facebook etc dangers".i told him that i will go.hmmm...it's going to be an interesting conversation..

Independant elders acting independantly? But yeah, that is not a F&DS sponsored activity.

hmmm... I wouldn't go man. Sounds like a set up. Especially if you know the rest that were invited, if they're "active" and "loyal" I would watch your 6.
