JWN needs to form a judicial committee
by irondork injwn needs to form a committee to collect, organize and disseminate information to candace conti's lawyers.. .
several valid points have been made on this forum about the dishonest reasonings and tactics used by wt lawyers during and after this conti trial.
exposing the wt and using its own printed track record against it is what the good folks at jwn do best.. .

This happening at the same time as Conti's case is almost unbelievable. The legal department has got to be extremely concerned by this news as this is something that can be brought against them as well.
I never thought that I would see things like this unfold against the organization. I had hope, but this is is just amazing.
We all thought the Sparlock debacle was something to get fired up about, this abuse case may just be the downfall of the org.
I'm so happy right now.

The Predictions Thread
by cedars ini thought it might be interesting and fun to have a "predictions thread", where we set out our predictions for events to unfold concerning the watch tower society (or jehovah's witnesses in general) over the coming years/decades.. it strikes me that so much has happened in the last ten years, most of which has defied expectations.
here's just a few of the developments that i can think of:.
the abolishment of group book studies in favor of a "family worship evening"the creation of a "study edition" watchtowerthe halving of monthly magazine printing commitmentsthe unprecedented closure/merging of branches (16% reduction in branches last year)the menlo park scandal, a body of elders removed for resisting a refurb of their kingdom hallthe lawsuits in victoria, australia - the society taken to court concerning child protection lawscourtroom admissions about the faithful & discreet slave and similarities with the catholic churchincreased hate speech against "mentally diseased" apostatesastonishing lapses of judgment, such as the "selma and steve" study articlethe ditching of gilead as a school for missionariesambitious construction plans for a new world hq (with or without jehovah's blessing!

suck on your own words watchtower
by Aussie Oz innow, we realize things are tough right now for you guys, but...you are telling the world how unfair the recent damages awarded against you are because he was not in a position of responsability "this is the first time that an organization was found responsible for the alleged misdeeds of a member who held no position of leadership or authority''.
11 the second question asks the candidate, first of all, if he understands that his baptism serves to identify him as one of jehovahs witnesses.
after undergoing immersion, he becomes an ordained minister who bears jehovahs name.

Well, that's lame, when I was a reg. pioneer those were the fun times! All of us rebel teenager pioneers would load up the van after school and go on "return visits" we would just drive around the territory and drop off couples in the van at "studies" and come back in an hour.
It didn't happen all the time, but when it did, someone got their freak on!!

Class action lawsuit - how does one get the ball rolling?
by sir82 inunless you've been living under a rock you know that a court in california has found the wts guilty of negligence in covering over child abuse, and the wts has ben ordered to pay $20 million + to the victim.. also, unless you've been living under a rock, you know that there are thousands, probably 10's of thousands, of similar victims of wts coverups regarding sexual abuse still out there.. now that the precedent has been set - now that the wts was not able to settle out of court, and has been found guilty - now that this is international news, and literally millions of people are aware of it - it seems that now may be the time to strike even more deeply.. i am not an attorney, but there are a few who post on the board, and others who have a deeper understanding of legal matters.. what would it take to begin a class action lawsuit against the wts?
how exactly does the process start?
does it matter which state it starts in?

Simple war strategy: Divide and Conquer.
Divide the WTS lawyers up in single cases. So they can't put all their top dogs in one basket to defend. Spread their resources thin, weaken their attack. Hit them at different angles. A class action lawsuit thrown in won't hurt either.
