i have posted on here a little, and i thought i should probably introduce myself the best i can right now.
i stumbled upon this site and told my sister about it.
then, sometime later she started discussing things with me that's she has seen or read (she's in therapy, as well, which probably has made her kind of rethink things).
Hi Left in the Cold! and welcome!
so we all know the jw vocabulary is a weird one.
what words or phrases bugged you the most?.
a few of mine:.
Jehovah Willing
Livley discussion
Higher Education (like it's a bad thing)
Making a name for your self (the only reason someone would want a higher education)
Head
Privileges
hi my name is crystle.
( i dont care if my congregation finds out what i am posting.
i havent been "in" for ten years and i have already told severl members what i think and where they can shove it...:/) i am 27 years old, and a single mother of a wonderful 6 year old.
Hi Crystle and welcome!
Thanks for telling your story. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate, but it is possible for you and your son to have a happy healthy life. You are both young so you have time. Try to spend as much one on one time with him as you can, maybe planning something special, even a picnic at a park or something simple when your parents are going to meetings. Like others have already said try to get on your own as soon as you can, but for now try to stay positive. You will find help here.
Peace to you,
Love, Mrs. Thor
google reminds us how long ago this was, 1966 (or was it 67?
) - i was a teenager in high school and guess what?
i never saw one eposode on local tv.
remember 7 of 9?
that's something most (if not all jw's) rarely get to do.
and it's something i've started embracing for a while.
at the meeting i was talking to some of the younger crowd and they were expressing their sadness about the congregation splitting.
Good for you oneday!
I agree with phizzy about using your undercover status to plant seeds! As long as your doing the slow fade you may help others along the way. Remember to be careful though if you do not want to be caught.
Hang in there!

we're you always in the back room with the elders?.
I would be asked to go to the dreaded back room every now and then so they could give me carp about having low hours in service. They knew I worked six days a week but somehow that made no difference.
I was a bad example for the Cong. so they little by little removed all of my privilages until I had none, which was cool with me except it was nice to have something to do. Although they never told me not to clean the kingdom hall. But I did get sick of the elders always giving me the stink eye.
And then there were the times we got hauled in for little things the kids did and we were one of the better behaved families.
They could just have a conversation with you but no, they have to make a public display out of it so every one wonders what kind of trouble you are in.
Crazy, so glad not to have to deal with all the B.S.

no, not wedding anniversary, but five years ago today was the first time in twenty three years that we did not turn in field service time to our "book study overseer".
poor guy, we really did and do care for him, but it was time to be done for good!.
we had thought for a short while that we might try to slowly fade away, maybe even going to another congregation and then fade, but we just walked away from the one we had been in for a number of years.. we are very happy to have done so!!
Good for you too Cult classic!!
Thank you Lozhasleft!
For sure Billy!
