the first time that i met simon, he was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the word "apostate".
it was all spelt out in evil-type letters, in fact it looked suitably demonic.. when i encountered him at another 'fest, his t-shirt slogan simply read: "no!
i will not fix your computer!"..

along with finding my favorite arm-chair and coffee mug, growing (slightly) older has brought on some curious sleeping habits.. for some time now, i have been in the habit of positioning four pillows in the shape of an arrow and sleeping with my head nestled in the middle supporting shoulders, on my back, with arms and legs stretched out across the whole bed (like a star-fish).
i also have a king size quilt which i use all of.
there is now even a slight dip in the centre of the bed where i sleep in the middle.. has any other single people got any curious habits they would find difficult to give up?
Ummmmmm...My wife sleeps in our bed as you describe. That is one of the many reasons we have a King size bed. She still needs to have a little room for me....her final pillow.

now that i'm totally free of the wt & it's indoctrination, standing alone not sure of my purpose in life, not sure where to turn to.
i still believe in god but find myself on the verge/or perhaps already questioning him.
this is quite a sensitve topic & not sure it suitable, but i just need it out there.

A great tragedy today is that even the womb is not safe for many infants. :(

i just answered a question "off the top of my head" to a question which brought to my mind something that i heard at a talk at our assembly that has "bothered" me and i am hoping for some clarification as i would never want to be accused of what this topic is about .... .
it was a talk at our recent assembly that brought out a 'new one' for me ...or perhaps i just haven't heard of it as yet ... .
I am not sure this is any different from the position the Society took back in the 1980's where they said a person could be DFed for stubbornly holding to a position not in conformity with their teachings even if they were not actively promoting their ideas in the congregation.

Hi Gang:
You may be interested in knowing that not all Christians believe that we must wait on God to solve the world's problems. In fact, according to Catholic Tradition, Christians are called to be Christian humanists. We are required to care for the poor and less fortunate. In fact, that is God's normative way of helping people is through the good works of mankind. (By the way, if you look at the last century, it was the gov'ts that formed out of atheistic philosophies such as Facist Germany and Communist Russia that killed way more people than regimes that came out of Christian philosophies including the inquisition and the crusades.) As a Catholic Christian who regularly receives Jesus in the Eucharist (under the form of bread and wine) I am duty bound to do what I can to make the world a better place. Pope John Paul II wrote in his Letter Ecclesia De Eucharistia the Following:
"A significant consequence of the eschatological tension inherent in the Eucharist is also the fact that it spurs us on our journey through history and plants a seed of living hope in our daily commitment to the work before us. Certainly the Christian vision leads to the expectation of “new heavens” and “a new earth” (Rev 21:1), but this increases, rather than lessens, our sense of responsibility for the world today. 33 I wish to reaffirm this forcefully at the beginning of the new millennium, so that Christians will feel more obliged than ever not to neglect their duties as citizens in this world. Theirs is the task of contributing with the light of the Gospel to the building of a more human world, a world fully in harmony with God's plan.
Many problems darken the horizon of our time. We need but think of the urgent need to work for peace, to base relationships between peoples on solid premises of justice and solidarity, and to defend human life from conception to its natural end. And what should we say of the thousand inconsistencies of a “globalized” world where the weakest, the most powerless and the poorest appear to have so little hope! It is in this world that Christian hope must shine forth! For this reason too, the Lord wished to remain with us in the Eucharist, making his presence in meal and sacrifice the promise of a humanity renewed by his love. Significantly, in their account of the Last Supper, the Synoptics recount the institution of the Eucharist, while the Gospel of John relates, as a way of bringing out its profound meaning, the account of the “washing of the feet”, in which Jesus appears as the teacher of communion and of service (cf. Jn 13:1-20). The Apostle Paul, for his part, says that it is “unworthy” of a Christian community to partake of the Lord's Supper amid division and indifference towards the poor (cf. 1 Cor 11:17-22, 27-34).
Proclaiming the death of the Lord “until he comes” (1 Cor 11:26) entails that all who take part in the Eucharist be committed to changing their lives and making them in a certain way completely “Eucharistic”. It is this fruit of a transfigured existence and a commitment to transforming the world in accordance with the Gospel which splendidly illustrates the eschatological tension inherent in the celebration of the Eucharist and in the Christian life as a whole: “Come, Lord Jesus!” (Rev 22:20)."

i have been reading over everyones posts from the dc and it made me remember a few things:.
the drama: they definately were discouraging going to collage.
timothy had a friend named jonathon that pursued "worldly goals"- getting an education, getting a good job and getting married and having kids.
Speaking with a forked tongue is all about their "theocratic warfare".

i would love to see jws "get out of her" and save anyone from getting involved with the witnesses.
what do you do to make this a possibility?

I sent you a private message.

i'm still undesided but leaning towards going to a few dcs under the cover of a worldly person(i'm really a df'd evil apostate .
i'm a worldy person that is in love with a jw sister who i work with, we have dated and even have been intimate(that outa perk up the ears of any hatchet man elder), and now she refuses to see me any more unless i become a jw, she encouraged me to go to this convention, but is afraid to be seen with me because she doesn't want people in her congregation to know she has a boy friend.
i think that kind of story would grab the interest of many sisters or brother and allow me to ask some hard questions about the organization and even allow me to bring up some things i found on the internet about dates and such and not be viewed as an apostate.
You know, it would be kind of funny to pass out tracts encouraging a college education after their drama.
