ugh...i got it a week ago when i forgot i was fair skinned and left without sunscreen!
there's a brown patch which doesn't feel like skin any longer and has little to no sensation.
When I was a teenager we used to go tubing down one of the rivers in southern Mississippi with my JW friends. I was determined not to get sunburned so I doused myself with sunscreen. The problem was that I forget the top of my two feet. When we got to the end of the trip, the top of my feet were burned very badly and I had to wear these dress shoes and socks to go to the KH the next day. Boy did that hurt!

Interesting........Greg used to post on this board way back when and has written books defending the JWs. I thought he had gone back to the organization but it sounds like he has had his fill.

It was not that long ago that I probably would have responded about the Catholic Church in the same way that you guys have. Certainly with a membership of 1 Billion you are going to have a large share of people who fail to live out the Christian faith at times among Catholics including Popes, priests, bishops, deacons, and lay people.
I would suggest that before you condemn me and my faith that perhaps you might want to listen. You might actually learn something that will help you. To reject what anyone has to say out of hand simply because of their religious beliefs is something we regularly criticize the JWs for........and yet that is what you have done to me. I know that old JW habits are hard to break for us ex-JWs but you may be surprised at what this former JW who is now Catholic has to say.

Well........yes.......
I will have my own personal Armageddon at the moment I die and am judged by God or Jesus will return sometime in my life and judge me at His second coming.
That is the way I look at it.

i knew of an elder who ran a janitorial business for decades here [surprize] - his primary employees were his kids, ranging in age from 3 or 4 to teenager at various times.
he would bring in the whole family, they would spread out and empty bags, vacuum, and dust.
in a flash they are out and off to the book study or whatever.. he was able to 'witness wipe' several offices after 5 o'clock and before the 7 o'clock meeting times.
this is one of the sadest days in my life, my beloved husband marco passed away this morning at 5:15 am.. it has been a dreadful day.
but my dear friend was with most of the day while we went togerther to make funeral arrangements.. that was really hard on me.
i have done nothing but cry and cry all day, i finally fell asleep a few hours ago while my friend diane was here and she let me sleep.
I am sorry for you loss. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

this year, my hubby's b.a.s.s club has been invited to be in the parade out by the harbor and going all through the town of oswego, (proudly known as the port city and the gateway to the st lawrence seaway) since i cannot climb up onto the decorated boats that will be displayed....they have invited me (little old me) to ride in one of the trucks that will be towing the boat that hubby will be in.. i know this isn't the most exciting event that most of you will be doing this weekend....but for an old lady that hasn't been allowed to see a july 4th parade for 30 years...it is a bit out of the "ordinary" in my list of things to do, lol!
i am looking forward to just "doing stuff" that ordinary people do in the community.
small as it may seem, it is a huge thing to have the freedom to do so!.

I think it was last year that I marched in the 4th of July parade carrying a sign for the gubernatorial candidate I was voting for in the election last fall. It was fun. I met a lot of very nice and thoughtful people. It was really cool to be able to exercise my right to free speech and my right to vote which is something JWs are not allowed to do.

I was around in the 80's when they were really slamming education. Thank God my mom was wise enough to make sure i get some kind of education. She made sure I went to a vocational school to study drafting which has given me a nice career.
So was I. I can remember after coming home from a rather frustrating day of pioneering and talking to myself more than anyone at the door that I had called the local vo-tech school to see about taking some classes. My JW mother found out and quickly talked me out of it. I eventually went to Bethel and discovered that that place was NOT for me and I found my better half while I was there.
Interestingly, after I got back from my one year service at Bethel and had gotten married, I could not find a job that paid decently to save my life. Then, when my new wife had to have two major surgeries within the first 6 months of our marriage and we had no health insurance, my parents to their credit agreed to help me go to college. However, I did get some flack from those in the congregation.
