LMAO @ DagothUr's symposium for the ASSembly .......however, you forgot to mention a key point that they like to emphasize: have some demonstration of a teenage Dub who's being pressured to go to university so he can become a materialistic bastard and become Satan's right-hand man. After talking to himself (never a good sign), he decides to wash windows part time and become a pioneer due to the fact that "the time left is reduced". Emphasize the evils of getting a higher education, and then announce that Bethel is looking for volunteers who have a university education.

The bottom line is, no matter how they try to dust it off, fill it with formaldehyde and prop it up on a pedestal, their excuses and interpretations about what Jesus meant by "this generation" are getting more pathetic and embarassing all the time. There is absolutey no scriptural evidence whatsoever that Jesus was referring to 'two generations' that overlapped. When he told his disciples that "this generation will not pass away", he was speaking to those who were alive at the time and who would be around when Jerusalem was sacked by the Romans 40 years later, end of story.
Ask any Witness to show some scriptural evidence of an 'overlapping generation' and watch what happens.

Excellent point TD....I also understand though what PSacramento is saying. With all high control groups, there is a huge amount of coersion with the rank and file members (whether they realize it or not) and it can indeed be very difficult to prove legally. Jim Jones had nothing in writing saying what the punishment would be for anyone who didn't want to drink his kool-aid and it was only after the fact that it was obvious that his actions were criminal and resulted in multiple deaths.
The average 'worldly' person has no idea of why disfellowshipping is, to many Witnesses, a fate worse than death. They have no idea of the mind control the religion exerts over it's members or the power they have to literally destroy your life if you cross them. There are some articles in their literature you could use that outlines the complete shunning of family members who are disfellowshipped. The problem is that the courts still allow disfellowshipping as part of the WTS's 'freedom of religion' and as of right now, they won't do a f**king thing about it. So the Society continues on with impudence and continues to murder their followers.
