Yep, I saw it last night.....there were two girls and Bill Bowan on there. Same story that's happened thousands of times: these girls had been sexually abused by brothers in the Hall whom they trusted, they went to the elders to report it and the elders told them there was nothing they could do because there "wasn't two eye witnesses" to the abuse. And by the way, "you want to be careful who you talk to about this" because there was the veiled threat that they would be disfellowshipped if they went to the police because it "would bring reproach on Jehovah's name".

VOMIT, VOMIT, VOMIT...........

It's not these girls that bring reproach on Jehovah's name, it's these low-lifes that do the molesting and those that cover it up that are bringing reproach on Jehovah's name.

I hope to God that the Governing Body members will be forced to testify in open court (like Cardinal Law has been forced to) that they knowingly cover up cases like this and disfellowship anyone who dares to cross them.

What a bunch of slimeballs.

And I couldn't believe that pathetic letter sent by someone (probably that idiot who represents the legal dept, JR Brown) where it claims that the Society "abhores" molestation and that they "provide counselling for victims" and that they "never discourage anyone from going to the police". Bill Bowan said "that is a bold-faced lie". (good for you Bill!)

All three of them sat there, shaking their heads in absolute disgust when Connie Chung read that and I'm sure millions of viewers who were watching the show did the same thing.

Just keep going Brooklyn.......you're digging your own grave deeper and deeper each day........

Reporting Time

i read on another post that something new was started at the last elder's meeting about "turning in time" or "getting time in".anybody know what it is?

When I still used to go out in Service, I still refused to "put in my time".....an elder asked me why I didn't report it. I said because what I did was between me and Jehovah and it wasn't any body else's business. I then asked him "there's absolutely NOTHING in the bible to even indicate that Christians in the first century had to "report time" to the apostles, or count how many scrolls they placed....it's a man-made rule".

He was totally stunned and looked as though he had never even thought of that before (D'UH!) and then after stuttering around for an answer, he just goes "well, just report your time anyway."

Great comeback, asshole.

Just when you think you've heard it all, the JWs manage to stun me once again.............

First of all, why the hell would they be meeting at a motel??? I've NEVER heard of them doing that before.....what possible reason would they have for doing this? That's really bizarre to say the least.........and they wanted Barbara Anderson to meet with six men alone in a hotel room? What in god's name is going on here?? Are they planning on raping her or what?

And what kind of pathetic morons ARE these elders that they would leave a hotel room without paying for it? I guess they thought it was a brother that owned it and they didn't have to.

As for Bill Bowan being physically threatened, I have to say, that one shocked me too as I didn't think they ever resorted to physical violence.......this is getting really, really scary and I certainly hope that both Bill and Barbara take 3 or 4 friends with them IF they actually go. I would also recommend that they be wired so that they have proof of what is said at these meetings.

The Governing Body members right on down to the local elders are really starting to let their disguise slip and their true colours come shining through. If they continue on this path, then I really start to wonder if this IS in fact, the beginning of the end for this religion.

I've known for some time that the GB did not have "Jehovah's Spirit" on them, but I truly did not fully realize just how low they could sink, but apparently there's no end in sight.

Bill and Barbara: I'm sure you've already done this, by I'd be very interested to hear what your lawyers are recommending for this scenario. And maybe the New York Times would be interested in this as well......

Amen Brother............

The Governing Body have the bear by the tail on this one: there's no way they can let go and save face. Seeing as this involves a criminal matter and not simply arguments about 1914, it will eventually (in my opinion), require the "wordly authorities" to get involved and force the issue.

The main problem is that the Governing Body are modern day Pharisees: they think they have a direct link to God and that their judgement is beyond reproach........THAT'S the real issue here: their authority. Naturally they don't want the world to see what a bunch of lying, deceitful hypocrites they really are, so they'll stop at nothing to try and turn the tables around.

Well, in my opinion they're in alot of trouble, both legally and spiritually. They would do well to heed the bible's warning:

Do no be misled: God is not one to be mocked. Whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap.

Ya? Gee, funny thing is, JWs are not ALLOWED to simply study the bible on its own. That's when all the "apostasy" started down at Brooklyn in the late '70s early 80's, when the Bethlites started studying the bible without the WT bullshit publications.

What pisses you off about elders wives?

the elders wife that really pisses me off, is the one that would boastfully announce that jehovah had provided her husband with a part-time teaching job, emphasising that his employment was "on the line" each year....but thanks to jehovah,(in other words) we are so fucking loyal and do many hours in field service and things that nobody could possibly know about ( but i'm letting you know indirectly) so my husband has an income to assist us in our pioneer service!

Elders Wives: The Chosen Ones.............

I can't stand their hoity-toity attitude towards everyone else at the Hall. Even if you are priviledged (vomit!) enough to have one of them actually stoop low enough to talk to you, there's always that condesending attitude when they do as though your life should be complete now that one of THEM has given up 5 minutes of her useless life to socialize with the likes of you!

Most elders wives are a bunch of lazy, gossipy, competitive women: Few of them have ever (or WILL ever) work outside the home, even though their kids are in high school or even gone, and they have virtually no concept of life outside of their family, the gossip in the congregation, and what new toy some other elders' wife just bought which SHE must have immediately!!! And what about that sister that's just lost 35 lbs?!! How did she do it??! I'm SURE she must be anorexic or bulimic!!!! And I want to do MY bedroom like Martha Stewart too!! I don't care HOW much it costs!! Why doesn't my husband make more money to keep me living in the lap of luxury??!!!

Plus, I find alot of the elders wives, along with the elders themselves, are a bunch of frigging drunks..........seriously.

Do dubs deal with death better than others?

going to that funeral this week made me think about a few things.. first the family members that attended, who btw were not dubs, were shedding tears.

i did not see anyone else there crying even though the woman who died was a great friend and will really be missed.. now since the dubs have the hope of the "resurrection" does that allieviate their grief that they should normally posess?

does that mean they are "happy" when someone dies because their wait is over?

It depends on the situation. Because Witnesses are always trained to concentrate on "the near future" and never the present, alot will find comfort in their belief that "soon" they will be reunited with their loved ones. That is why quite often after a family member has died, you'll find alot will become very fanatical in the religion: pioneering, etc. because they HAVE to make sure that they're there in the New System to "welcome these ones back from the dead."

My personal experience though when a family member died, was quite different. I found little comfort thinking that they are simply dead in the ground. I found far more comfort thinking that if there was an afterlife, I'd rather them be there than dead in the ground.

I saw a few scriptures in a different light, most notably when Jesus promised the evildoer: Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise."

Ya, I know the Society puts the comma after "you", but every other instance where Jesus spoke in these terms, there was no "comma" after it.

I also found comfort in 2 Corthinthians chapter 15 where one verse says "If there is a physical body, there is a spiritual body." That to me, strongly indicates that something DOES happen at death.

Alot of JWs actually deal with death alot worse than "wordly" people, simply because we are taught that we'll never have to worry about growing old and dying in this system. Nor will we have to watch our parents grow old and die in this system.

Naturally, we all have to, but seeing as alot are not prepared for this, they don't know how to deal with it when it happens.
