So Should Germany Be Dictating Terms?

berlin germany has told the united states it will withhold evidence against sept. 11 conspiracy defendant zacarias moussaoui unless it receives assurances that the material won't be used to secure a death penalty against him, germany's justice minister said in remarks released saturday.

just seen this on the news.

i know that european countries won't extradite anyone to the us if they could face the death penalty, but this seems a very different kettle of fish somehow.

I jes' don't understand ANY freaking country, not wanting to turn over evidence to the USA on any of these scumbag terrorists if they're going to face the death penalty.

If some planes were hijacked in Germany, France, Sweden, Canada, Mexico......or anywhere that wasn't Muslim, and 3500 of their citizens killed, I have little doubt that these countries would immediately turn to United States for help if they couldn't fight terrorism on their own. Yet these same countries (and I include my own country in this: Canada) seem more worried about protecting these rights of bastards, rather than see justice served.

Just wait till Bin Laden starts killing Germans (after all, they're infidels like the rest of us), we'll see how picky they are about "the death penalty."

Great talk at the KH today

i went to a kh near me today, they had a guy from london bethel talking.

he had some interesting things to say.. he did the talk in two parts, in the first half hour he was comparing 'this system of things with the titanic, and saying a lot about how the people on the titanic were carrying on normaly when the ship hit the berg.

then he went on about people had to 1, believe that the ship would sink and 2, have faith that the lifeboats would save them.

Ya, and whose fault was it that the Titanic sank?? The arrogant guy at the top running things.............I like what they said at the Board of Inquiry after the sinking as to why it even happened: "....it seems that overconfidence played a role........"

Yep; overconfidence I'm sure will play a role in the sinking of the WTBTS too; which everyone knows is "unsinkable"!!!

in an earlier topic, blondie made reference to heated discussions in congregations over kh builds.

this raises a question.

my father was and elder who was selected as the building coordinator for the new kh in our local area about 2-3 years ago.

Yep, your father got royally screwed. In the minds of many of these idiots, you should be more than willing to take a huge financial loss, as long as THEY'RE getting the labour done for free. They don't give a crap about anyone except the Borg itself.

Too many kids today are being "raised" by computers and the TV where all they know is violence or witchcraft. How many parents actually still tell their kids bedtime stories?? To tell them true stories of life the way it was "in the old days" is not only "spending quality time with them", but it's educational too.

I'm sure it's something your kids will remember forever. :-)

1. Why are sisters not allowed to wear trousers?

IF I WAS AN ELDER, I WOULD..............

for decades i heard people say "if i was an elder,i would change this or i wouldn't allow that.brothers and sisters alike would always try to get the ear of an elder so as to enact a particular cause.everybody has their own pet peeves in a congregation.

knowing what you know now, if as an elder you could make a major change in the congregation or organization, what difference would you make?.....this is hypothetical so it can be answered by male or female.

I would get rid of the Book Study, the Service Meeting, Service itself, 1914, 1918, 1919, disfellowshipping, the WT and Awake!, the Governing Body members, JR Brown and all pedophiles. The pedophiles I'd get rid of by bringing back public stoning out back of the Hall :-)

I'd develop charity work, voting, encourage higher education, independent thinking and Kingdom Halls with windows in them that OPEN!! I'd have only one meeting a week: one public talk on Sunday for one hour like the rest of religions do.

Everyone would be able to have the wine and bread at the Memorial Service and I'd allow birthdays, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas..........

Other than that, I wouldn't change anything!!!

Properly Understanding Genesis 3:14

it was satan that was cursed, not the snake!

if it was satan then that the "curse" of genesis 3:14 applied to rather than the serpent, then how is it that satan has had to live his life since that day as if having to go upon his belly and eat dust?

the answer is arrived at by first considering the lowly state of this somewhat pitiful creature called the "serpent".

Actually, I've always had a problem with the ol' 'Satan used a serpent to deceive Eve'........I say NO WAY. How could ANYONE be "seduced" by an ugly, repulsive reptile??? Guys: who would you be more apt to be seduced by: Pamela Anderson or Rosanne Barr???

I had a professor of Religious Studies explain it to me once: he said that Satan (or Lucifer as he was known then), was in charge of sort of watching over Adam and Eve and the earth at that time, and he would have appeared to both of them, probably on several occasions. Ezekiel something describes cherabum as very beautiful creatures and I think there's a scripture somewhere that talks about how beautiful in appearance Lucifier was.

So we all know he becames greedy and wanted worship for himself, etc. etc., so he figures he can trick Eve into disobeying God. So if he appeared as himself (very attractive) and as a friend, someone Eve was familiar with, then she probably had total trust in him, and figured he knew best and would never do anything to harm her.

Makes alot more sense to me than the serpent story.

Congretional Voting

There USED to be voting in the congregation.............back in the early 1900s and early 1920's, elders were voted in by the congregation, which is the way it SHOULD be done. Now of course, you're selected by 5 or 6 other elders and the congregation has absolutely no say..........how frigging typical. This is usually why the bigger ass-kisser you are, the better chance you got of becoming an elder.

As for why other trivial "voting" matters are allowed in the congregation but you can't vote for a President or Prime Minister is also another nit-picking stupid rule of theirs: It's not the actual action of voting that they're against, but they don't think that Christians should vote for a worldly leader, because of course, God's Kingdom is the only true and just government. While that's all fine and dandy, it's not here yet (oh sorry, I forgot: it's been here "invisibly" since 1914), and we have to have something in the meantime...............
