  Who likes winter?

  well, today is the first day of winter.

  winter here in canada is cold and long.

  we have about 4 to 5 months of damn snow every year.

  Oh man you said it!! Last year was the WORST!! We had frigging snow on the May 2-4 weekend in Southern Ontario this year. I don't EVER recall that happening before. It didn't warm up till the middle of June and then we roasted our asses off in July, August and September. So damn hot you couldn't even go outside. Then, it turned freezing cold around the 3rd week in October and we've been freezing our asses off ever since.........so ya, we went a whopping 4 months WITHOUT snow this year.......I too would love to be on a beach in Hawaii.......or Tahiti, or ANYWHERE where it's warm. I hate winter time with a passion.

  It wouldn't be so bad if we only got it for 2 or 3 months out of the year..........

  It's 2 AM...and Im soooo sad

  its just not supposed to be like this.

  i just put my jw husband on a plane to san fran so he can spend the entire holiday week out there, get this, dog sitting his nonjw brothers shitzus while he goes to visit family for christmas.

  i told him i was going to miss him...and he replied, well "i wont miss christmas".

  ((((((Lovedubs)))))).......I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through........I can't believe your husband would rather spend the holidays with a frigging DOG rather than his family.............

  From what you've described here, your husband actually sounds about where I am when it comes to the Organization. I haven't been out in service for years, and have no intention of ever going out again, and I only attend half the meetings. I stay, because right now I think it would be too hard on my family if I totally left and it's just more convenient to be a half-assed Witness than to be DF'd.

  Your husband probably doesn't want to do the whole Christmas thing, because even though he doesn't want to be an "active" Witness anymore, there's still the huge problem of "guilt" that we all deal with. Not sure if you read my post, but some friends of mine gave me a birthday party yesterday and although I enjoyed it tremendously, I still felt a bit guilty, simply because it was ingrained in me all my life that this was wrong, wrong, wrong...........

  For Christmas next year, why don't you try this: have the dinner and friends over, etc. but don't put up the decorations. If you want to give gifts to the kids, do it a fews days before Xmas. My sister left the Borg 25 years ago, and she told me the other day that she STILL feels a twitch of the ol' guilt trip when she puts up her Christmas tree.............I think if you did it SLOWLY over the next few years, your husband might respond to the celebrations a bit better.........

  Just a thought but it's worth a try. All the best,

  IT'S M' BIRTHDAY & I'LL DRINK IF I WANT 2

  well, i'm old as the hills today...........and for anyone wanting to know details, lets just say i'm over 21............. .

  i'm leaving in about 20 minutes to go over to my horrible "apostate" friends house where they're giving me a (gasp!

  ) birthday partaaaaaaa!!!

  Well I just got home from the partaaaaaaaa.........wow! that was great! I got alot of presents: wine, a basket of goodies from The Body Shop, perfume, more wine, CDs, earrings, flowers, a gift certificate to a Day Spa, a sweater and oh yes, ONE of them gave me a small box all wrapped up. I unwrapped it and inside were two slips of paper: a subscription for the Watchtower and one for the Awake!

  Everyone started laughing their heads off at that one!!

  I had a wonderful time tonight and found out that I wasn't the only one that could still feel guilty about things.............

  he wants to come over and talk to steve (he wouldn't talk to me or give me any message).

  this particular elder was from steve's old congregation in austin, texas.

  As bizarre as this sounds, there's about 10% of me that still feels guilty about celebrating a birthday, even though I know there's nothing wrong with it...........thanks to a life-time of brainwashing by the Tasteless and Disgruntled Goat Class.........

  Besides that nagging feeling of guilt, I'm really looking forward to this..........not sure what to expect but what the hell!!!

  the memorial came around, and my mother brought this newly baptized lady who my mother successfully got into the jws.

  we went and picked her up.

  The 144,000 doctrine is pure bullshit anyway, as anyone with half a brain can figure out when they read Revelation.......either it's a literal number of literal Jews, or it's a symbolic number of symbolic Jews..........and where the hell does the bible state that the emblems are only for these guys??

  just 8 months ago, my mate & i moved over 1000 miles to a new state .

  David Duke: Will he survive?

  an interesting story on david duke appeared in yesterday's paper.. "david duke, the former kkk leader and politicians who spent the past three years preaching 'white survival,' pleaded guilty wednesday to bilking his supporters and cheating on his taxes.

  duke, 52, could get up to 15 months in prison and $10,000 in fines under a plea bargain reached with federal prosecutors.

  he is free on bail until his sentencing march 19. the plea to felony charges also disqualifies duke from running for public office again.".

  I'm amazed he was allowed to remain in politics for as long as he did, when everyone knew he was part of the KKK..........well, I'm sure he'll get lots of support from the black population in prison............they're probably already preparing for his arrival .
