  How many people die because of the Watchtower politics on blood, transplants and vaccinations?

  Well, in my family, the ban on blood transfusions cost my brother in law his life and it nearly cost my father his life twice. If that can happen in one family, I can only imagine how many have died in the last half a century since it became a DF'ing offense. 250,000 is not unreasonable.

  if a person who gets labelled as "apostate" says something truthful, yet, is unflattering or exposes the wt, it is automatically a lie......... because it came from an.... "apostate".... yet.... if the wt tells a lie, it is the "truth" just because it comes from the wt......and no-one checks to see if it is truthful...... is that right??

  Were You Ever Interrogated By The Elders?

  some elders enjoy giving the business to the lowly flock thru intimidation.

  some love to ask you to enter with them into the "backroom".. of course, there were many that never had run-ins with the shepherds because they were under the radar.. did you ever get interrogatted by the elders and if so, how did it go??

  Yepper. Got my ass hauled before them for swearing (can't imagine why) . Yes I know Christians weren't supposed to swear but since one of the elders questioning me was married and boinking a young pioneer sister (who was also married), somehow I figured mine was the lesser transgression.

  I also had several 'talks' to 'readjust my thinking' because I would ask alot of questions that apparently sounded like "apostate questions". Surprisingly, I never got the axe for apostasy even though they know I think it's a crock. In fact, I went to my aunt's 60th anniversary party (in another city) a couple of weeks ago and spent the afternoon with a bunch of Dubs I haven't seen in 25 years. Chatted with them but religion never came up.

  Something tells me that the Kingdumb Hell has more doubters housed there than JWN.

  Need Help - Parent in ICU

  df parent is in hospital icu and surgeon wants to give blood.

  parent is df for almost 20 and firmly refused blood for personal reasons (spiritual).. .

  my concern is that parent is taking strong stand based on outdated jw gb hlc guidelines.

  Hi AudeSpaere: I did a project a few years ago about all their BS doctrines and one of the subjects I did was on blood. Randy Watters has it on his Freeminds page and you can download it. It's in pdf. Go to pages 22 - 25 I believe and feel free to print it off and show it to your father.

  When my brother in law was dying, I convinced him and my sister that the Organization's ban on blood tranfusions was absurd and completely without scriptural support. While they did end up taking blood, it was too little, too late for him. Out of frustration and rage at watching him slowly deteriorate, I phoned Bethel and spoke to some idiot in the Writing Dept. about the blood issue. I was prepared for every argument he had. Of course, he was more concerned about who I was and what congregation I went to than in dealing with the issue at hand. Finally at the end of the conversation when he had nothing to back his drivel up, he told me that "if any changes needed to happen, Jehovah would direct it through the "Slave". End of conversation. I really wish I had taped it.

  There was someone else on here a couple of years ago who had a family member in the hospital and who was refusing blood. She emailed me about my project and I sent it to her. She printed it off and gave it to their daughter (the person in question) and apparently she read it, thought about it and decided to take the blood.
