if anyone cares or dares to read this, this is how it was when i was 13 years of age.. the gap in funding for black and white kids' education is still stunning to me 46 years later, but it's there in black and white.. it's a testament to our determination and fortitude that we acquired an education at all.. this, in the richest country on the planet!.

race is a volitile issue. african americans are justly angry about the treatment they have receieved. while people are generally annoyed because most of them are not racist and have had no part in the domination of a race of people. the point is whatever the culture or race there is generally a history of oppresion, man has dominated man for centuries. many of us here have not had an easy road and its belittleing to think that yours is harder just because of race.

for every one person who actually listens to you, ten will ignore you or call you an apostate. but i feel those are still good numbers

since da'ing my mother has always sorta kept in contact with me...until recently.. three years ago i started dating a guy, my bio father and step mother did not approve of.

my mother loved it, she fed off it.

i have a sister that refuses to even respond to my emails, but i still hold out hope that her heart will soften. a couple in my old hall whom shunned me finally saw the light. not only did they apologize but know their family and mine are good friends. there is always hope that they will come back to you.

your family will try to make you feel like its your fault. its not. it sounds like the other half is pretty good just lean on them and your husband. dont beat your head against a wall, just show them true christian love.

i haven't been to a meeting since 2006 and the only time the elders have talked to me was to accuse me of something based on rumors/slander and refuse to tell me who has accused me of wrongdoing

it was painful at first but now i see the advantages of not having needy relatives spending the weekend with me and scoffing my food and raiding my bar.

my wife is happier too.

it's like having a heavy rucksack removed.. i have 39 jw relatives and 38 of them shun me along with the army of ex-friends who remain in the tower.

it was hard at first but now i enjoy it. i was going for a walk with my wife and kids (age 7,2, and 10months) when i ran into a 'brother' i have known for twenty years. i asked him how he was doing and how he liked being a grandfather and he bumbled out a response and practically ran away like i might steal his soul... my wife (never a JW) laughed at how he acted.

the question that got me out was "are you willing to examine your religion for faults as thoroughly as you ask people in your ministry to examine theirs?"
