Thanks for the map Nic,
But where are all the Aussies. Either the map is broke, or they are all in bed, but that's hard to believe.

the guestmap is a feature at the dnc site but i thought it might be cool to for us to get a visual image of where we all are.
just 'click & hold' the map to drag it around.
you can then zoom in on your local area.

Hello Kjell Hedblom,
I related very much to your feelings. Been there, done that. I too have approached others to apologize for my actions and counsel while serving.
What I dont understand is that I have such a great feeling inside myself that I never had before when my life was ruled by the OrganizationSo what is wrong with me,anyone can tell me???? Or is this what you all out here have experienced?? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!
Nothing is wrong man! Pop a beer for me. Where is Englishman? We need a toast.

i feel the need for a rant!
i had a conversation with my jw elder father tonight that has left me seething.
just to set the scene, i left the jws back in 1994. i was baptized, having been dfd and reinstated a couple of years prior to my final exit in 94. i was never dfd again and pretty much left to my own devices.

Whooowww! I'm trying to figure out if you are angry with the concept of matrimony or with the concept of religion.
You have my sympathy!

Hello home_and_dry
I do feel lucky in that I do still have a good relationship with my parents (albeit a slightly conditional one) and i think i've got the best situation that can be expected under the circumstances.
I'm glad you have calmed down and come to that conclusion. Your argument with your dad could have ruined a good thing you have going. Also, up till this event you thought you had a good relationship with your dad. It sounds to me it was as good as you could hope for. As an appointed elder he was being appreciably liberal to try to ignore his training to be judgemental and instead accept you as you are. But his buttons got pushed and he revealed his suppressed discontent with your condition. If he thinks about it he may regret some of the things he said. On the other hand he may feel guilty and compelled to do something about your remarks. You made some good points with him about DFing. Maybe he will think about it.
Hope you can talk again and get back to where you both were before the arguement.

for married couples who ended up leaving the jws together, which spouse broke from the jws first?
what was your reaction to your spouse leaving at first?
what made you decide to finally leave with your spouse?.
Marilyn,
Very Good!
Everyone, go back an read Marilyn's advise again. The only thing I would add is I feel there is a real message in the Christian scriptures that can liberate a Jdub if presented from a Bible translation that can be understood and shown to be totally separate and different from the WT dogma.
If your mate does not 'feel the same' then be careful to avoid attacking the WT society. This raises flags and closes dialog. We, Joy and I, have several friends who's mates are not coming along. Hope we get more expressions that may help in this regard.

well, some here think that all we do is sit around a post naughty pics and do no charitable or volunteer work.
i thought we could see who does what for their respective communities.
valis= free computer support dallas shakespeare festival + on the wing again bird sanctuary/rescue, photopgraphic web hosting services for the bob marley festival of dallas, am about to start w/the down's syndrome guild of dallas doing web support and event work/soliciting charitable donations from companies, and my teaching that means working many hours unpaid to help my students personally/educationally.
Dutchie,
I, like you, have a respect for Valis. But that does not resemble an ear in any way. Glad you took a closer look. REALITY!
Valis is obviously an evil person as demostrated by his pic of unacceptable piercing of a privat part. ( I caught HELL as an elder for my daughter's navel ring)
Dawn,
Thanks for getting us back on track.

so here i am just reading my the book of revelation in my bible (nkv)..and i'm thinking "how can they read this and not see that jesus and god are the same?
so i get out my wife'ss bible (nwt) and boom there it is...my bible has the alpha and omega refrence in rev 1:11...hers does not.
i then take a look at rev 22:19 and there it has the punishments for adding or deleting anything from this book.

I refuse to get seriously involved in application of prophesy to modern times. I believe in God and the value of prophecy in the old revelation of the God Jehovah in the Hebrew scriptures. This history, if anything, lead up to the "end of the system of things" 2000 years. There is a valuable lesson to learn from that part of human history, but that is something to cover in another post.
As to prophesy applying to our time, don't hold your breath. I suspect the lessons are already there to learn, and any modern application is futile. Yet the lessons are not a formula of facts and future events but a revelation of what not to expect of God. It is over already. Now we can choose to be spiritual persons or not, live good lives or not, learn from the Job like drama played out be Jesus or not. We can learn from their lessons or not. But if we are waiting for modern prophetic fulfillment I fear the lesson has evaded our attention, we missed the point of it all. Thoughts for the future but hopefully we are beyond the 'end is near' expectations.
Logical
Glad to see you responding. Somehow you surprise me with your 'logic'.

Now you have struck on something really worthwhile. Not to be blowing horns for ourselves, I think it is encouraging for regular posters and revealing to JW lurkers to see what we are doing. Lets dispel the appearance of being self-indulgent, voyeuristic, low life perverts that others would expect of us APOSTATES .
'More happiness in giving' and 'Love of neighbors' demonstrates the spirit of Christianity with no quotas, quilt or field service reports. I hope we get a lot of response to this thread.

Is this Mommie,
I'm still an "irregular publisher" here. But yes I have missed you. I am now known as the husband of Joy2bfree more than as Jst2laws. Things change but for the better. Hope you stick around and get to know all the new ones.

Harleys are the best to me, but not everyone. I am not a bigot, as long as you ride.....
I have been riding highway bikes since 1978. Back then is was a cheap way to travel to the job. Put on about 5000 miles a year. Strange thing is that I was serving where the "need is great" as PO of a rural congregation, assigned Circuit and district convention parts. For a short time I even had a beard giving some public talks (CO never discovered it). 25 years later I again have the beard and a bike, but no way in good standing.

writing (but I've been on a dry spell lately...gotta fix that.If you are teaching "university students here in china" how long can you survive with this dry spell?
Again we hear "gotta fix that". But then most of us are trying to fix our lack of a recreational life but you need to get published. I sympathize. Hope you can catch some free time and recreation soon.
