Be who you are. Cuz I sure am. I don't have a problem with anyone's sexuality. Bigotry, is one that will ruffle my feathers because I'm a minority. There is too much hate in the world as it is. Don't ruffle my feathers and I won't ruffle your's.

My Motives For Denouncing Homophobia and Bigotry
by PublishingCult ini just want to be clear on this.
some have attributed my motives for denouncing homophobia and bigotry to my being gay.
some have come to the conclusion that i must be gay for shouting down the homophobes and bigots on this board.

Does your Cat want to sit on your Lap while you are on the Toilet .....?
by flipper ini don't know what it is ...... but it's becoming disconcerting.
he's going to just have to sit outside the door and wait.
i know it will be dissappointing to him , as he purrs like crazy while gathering in the experience.

PublishingCult,
You have a great looking kitty. It seems that our cats like to monitor our lives, even in the bathroom. I never knew that there were so many kitty bathroom monitors. Tough job. But somebody's gotta do it!

I was Dubsnubbed this past week.
by I quit! injust this past week i went to see a jbub relative that was in the hospital.
there was an elder there from her hall.
he was probably there for support but also to make sure no blood was used.

I have been Dubsnubbed while I was still attending the meetings in my hall. I didn't give a flying F*** about them. They couldn't run a lot of BS my way, so they kept their distance. They could not use me for transportation to the meetings, replacing a sister who did not show up for her talk, donate money to take the "speaker" out for a meal, or never providing any meals for "goodie night". I stopped going to the meetings on a regular basis. I had a "concerned" elder to call me to ask where I had been and I told him "non of ya business" and did not owe him an explanation because I was a "grown assed woman". So, being "Dubsnubbed" worked to my advantage and I now live life on my own terms.
Why do the elders think that you are children and you are to "obey" them (where is your fs time, meeting attendance, commenting, sex, marriage, job, entertainment, etc.)?

I really tried to be honest with reporting my time. I would count it from the time we left from the field service arrangement until just before lunch. I was just keeping up appearances (would meet in the territory to show my face and then leave for a fake study I had). When they let us count time in increments of 15 minutes, I fudged a little on my field service for time. Yeah, there was this elder who hounded people for their time each month and I had to set him straight on demanding my time from me. A bunch of control freaks. They got my time when I was good and ready to give it to them!

Love of the Governing Body
by IMHO inat a recent sad the visiting bethel brother after passing on the love of the branch committee (which is bad enough, they used to say the 'bethel family' didn't they), he then made it worse (for me) by adding that he has also been told to pass on the love of the governing body.. that doesn't sit quite right with me but i can't really explain why.
any thoughts?.

Happy2b:
Most of us have been where you are and I don't think that the people on this forum are just here just talking about this just for conversation. At one time, most of us wanted to serve Jehovah faithfully and believed that the WTBS had our best interests at heart. You are in the "engagement phase" a study. When you get baptized, the game does indeed change courses. You mentioned that you're enjoying friendships with those in the organization. Been there, done that. You have not been tested, yet. Once you voice any concerns about the society once you get dunked, you will notice that the "love" will disappear. You will not be allowed to question the "Society". You really need to think seriously about becoming a JW. I was raised in the truth and I saw so many good people leave. That should tell you something does not add up. Read on the history of the JWS (1975, Ray Franz, etc.). If you have ANY doubts, please reconsider.

You are to be commended for speaking about your experiences in the Borg. There are a lot of people who are unable to do so. I wish you nothing but success.

The WT Headship Principle (tm): Did you ever REALLY buy it?
by Open mind ini believed that god was the big boss and his first-line supervisor was jesus.. .
everything beyond that got a bit shaky for me throughout my jw life.. .
but this bit, i never bought into for even an instant: the husband is the head of the wife.. .

I agreed with it to a certain extent because I read it in the Bible. I saw how some "brothers" treated their wives and that's why I stayed single for a while cuz as a single woman, "I did what the hell I wanted". Now that I am married, I still do "what the hell I want". I just let my husband know about it and we're good. I also allow him the same courtesy.
