  So i'm out treat or treating and I come home with a dog! WTFrick??

  so we are out treat or treating and i notice a dog very distressed howling and shaking with fear... so i try and approach her but she starts growling at me.

  carrot rings the doorbell of the house that she is hiding on and the people have never seen her before... quite a few neighbours come out and we eventually win her round... she is terrified and very disorientated.... we scoure the streets looking for her owners but to no avail... all we can gather from her behaviour is that she was most likely thrown from a car... she has not long finished whelping a litter and is clearly distressed... we end up bringing her back for the night and has not left carrot alone... she has been lying on him, licking and kissing him.

  all she has wanted is to be curled up on his lap.... obviously he is her saviour!

  JW that is really sad! People can surrender their dogs over to sanctuary's/shelters so why dump them?

  Plus a fee that's disgusting! That's probably why people dump their pets... The heartache these animals must go through... Tragic!

  Did you have to put Nellie down? It is so much worse when YOU have to make that horrible decision. :(

  Yes the vet phoned me toa sk me what I wanted then to do, because she was under anesthetic for x-rays. They put her to sleep while she was under. It was awful! She was really suffering and it was the kindest thing to do.

  I think we have an opening for a troll.

  LOL! She would make a good one!

  Thanks for all your comments... I phoned the dog warden as because she was a stray she would have to go to the pound for seven days and then if space was found onto a sanctuary... If not..... Well that doesn't bear thinking about. Well Carrot phoned me to say that the family that were combing the streets with us last night phoned to see if we still had her. Carrot said yes and the woman said her cousin wants to rehome her. They came round and ''dog'' fell in love with this woman... Hugging, kissing, licking her. This woman is an experienced bull terrier owner and wanted one for a companion as she adores that breed of dog.

  Dog warden isn't coming now thank goodness! One less dog in the pounds! Yey!

  Dog trots off really happy, tail going ten to the dozen down the drive, she didn't even look back at me! Charming being as I allowed her on the bed and furniture! Lol!

  The couple are going to keep in touch so I will know how she is.

  Heres to a happy rescue!

  Thank you LITS.

  Outsmart I can totally see where you are coming from and I would feel the same with you, but the thing is our dog very rarely barked. She was deaf and had cataracts on both eyes. The poor thing, if sat by the front door would jump out of her skin if the post came through as it would land on her. She would walk into the doors, she was funny... Next door would continously phone the agents and complain of this excessive barking when I would have been at home all day and the dog was in the house. I stop a dog barking, as a couple of times is ok to let me know someone is at the door or if they want to come in from outside... The way she acts, it is as if I have a dog chained up outside to bark it's brains out.

  What did show her nuttiness was when she was going on about this barking dog (before the stray) she was blaming Nellie... Now unless Nellie was haunting her during the ten weeks she has passed then she has really lost the plot!

  We have always been peaceable, helpful and kind to her, but i'm done with all that now. The look on her face was priceless when I lost my temper, she really wasn't expecting it. Lol.

  I Loooovvvvveeeeee shoes, but alas I sold them all (only kept a few pairs) when we were struggling financally. But hopefully I will be able to build up my collection soon! Yey! I love bags to, oh and scarves, and coats, I looooovvvvvveeeeeeeeee coats and dresses! Oh dear I just love everything! Oh I mustn't forget jewellery! Love that probably most of all!

  It is definately a woman thing, but it's one of the things that makes us unique and fabulous! You men wouldn't have us any other way!

  Shamus I would love to move, but it's just not financially possible at the moment... Plus we have put up with her for the past four years... There comes a time where enough is enough. She keeps putting her house up for sale but they can't sell it. Awww my heart bleeds. Although I would love her to move out, she can go bother someone else.

  I am planning to download some dog barking, if she wants to continously try to send me insane then it's only far for me to repay the favour!

  I do feel better for finally standing up for myself, over the past four years she has pushed too many buttons and I just exploded... I shook for two hours after it happened, but I am feeling empowered so watch out anyone who want's a piece of the sprout!

  Carrot wants a donkey for the back garden, could you imagine what that would do to her??? We would just say it's a big dog. lol!
