New ageish how?? I'm just curious... I can't see what you see.

i'll be the first to admit that i haven't done the research on this one, and i can't remember the answer from my jw days - but there's something bothering me about the scenario of judas and his betrayal of jesus.. considering that the betrayal of jesus by judas was foretold in prophecy, it was essentially set in stone.
it was going to happen, it was an absolute because divine prophecy is correct.
judas had to betray jesus in order to fulfil prophecy.. now, i've always personally believed that a person does not sin by an act that they cannot avoid, but this seems like kind of the motherload of standing on the traintracks.

Godrulz it says that Helen Schucman was Jewish and had an interest in religion... It mentions nothing about her being an athiest... Although an athiest wouldn't ''hear'' Jesus' voice would they??
Anywhoo Peace
much of our spring was very cold, intermingled with the occasionally 'extreme' heat.
so far summer [which started this week] is cooler than any i can recall, but extremely wet and high humidity.
the entire house feels like a wet blanket.. the doom-sayer types are constantly remarking how this must mark 'something' if not the end.
In the Uk we had a beautiful April and yet May/June have been intermittent with sunny/wet days... So far in June we have been having April showers!
Mind you the UK does have bizzare weather patterns... We are looking to having to hot weather next week... Sooooo fingers/toes crossed!

Godrulz I looked up ACIM and all I can see is that a woman called Helen Schucman ''heard'' an audible voice who identified Himself as Jesus... How do you know it was an ''angel of light''?? I can't see anything in what I have read that would say it was demonic.... I'm not denying that there are ''angels of light''.... The WT is one of them.
I ''hear'' very well... It is most definately teh Christ I hear... Certainly not an angel of light.
I will research Helen Schucman some more.

many people distance themselves from formal religion but say that they are a "spiritual" person.. .
similarly theists talk about the "spirit" as if it is something that is self-evidently true.. .
i wonder if anybody would like to have a go at defining what they mean by these words?
Watersprout - thanks for your comments.
You are most welcome...
When you say we are "spiritual beings trapped in a physical body" that is the bit I'm interested in. What do you mean by a spiritual being?
I mean that we are not from this world... That when Adam sinned and was unrepentant he was given a skin covering of ''flesh''... Now our ''spirit'' is trapped inside this fleshly vessel until we die and either go under the Altar or to the land of the dead to await the second ressurection... Of which we will be restored to what we should have been before Adam and Eve sinned... As to what we would have looked like/going to look like I have no idea...I have many friends who do not share my beliefs but still believe that we are ''spirit beings'' inside a fleshly vessel.
What properties does this spirit stuff have?
I'm not to sure what you mean by this question... I am very ''blonde'' so I get confused very easily! Lol
I'm just about to have tea and buscuits as well by the way, I agree with you about the importance of tea and biscuits. For a truly "spiritual experience could I suggest a cup of tea with a bread roll filled with square (Lorne) sausage covered in brown sauce? Nirvana!
That does sound delicious! I would have a veggie sausage instead though.... Oooohhh I want one now! Brown sauce always reminds me of my dad... He had it over everything! Lol

i fought against this with all my wts-trained power, but truth prevailed.. any way you cut it, it comes out the same.. peace and strength in your search.. sylvia.
May I ask where you are getting your teachings from?
Of course you may...I get my teachings from my Lord Jaheshua Mischajah.
So would you describe your belief system as partially based on the quote above?
All of my beliefs are from what my Lord has taught me... I follow no book or man. I very rarely pick up the bible... I didn't know my bible in the time I was raised as a dubbie...
Would you say you are spiritualizing or carnalizing? Or am I going down the wrong path?
I am doing neither... All what I have posted has not come from me, but from the one who teaches all things.
I am very curious so if this is incorrect please point me in the right direction to what your belief is based on.
Like I have said, everything I have been taught has come from the one who teaches all things... I went to the source, not any books or man.
