Clearly ToMo3 didn't sign off on that video. Hella "tight pants" all over the place.

i don't know if anybody has seen this (or if anybody cares).
but it seems that some of the "new" new songs have been leaked by somebody at bethel.. just a bit of a warning, do not click on that vocal rendition of song 142... it is awful.

Haha! My other half says that too!

This is the first time I've ever seen the term "the world" used in a song.
i brought a niv to the hall the other day.
man, i sure got some attention for it.
someone actually offered to get me a bible.
I brought the purple Greek Interlinear Bible printed by the WTS to meetings for a while a few years back. Definitely got a few funny looks. One rather obnoxious elder said something along the lines of "I haven't seen one of those in a long time! I remember using it for research years ago. Can I ask your motivation for using it at the meeting instead of the NWT?" It was clearly meant as "be careful you're not doing this for the wrong reasons" (read: being critical of the NWT).
Someone else asked "why would you use a translation that's inferior to the NWT?" When I showed them that it was in fact printed and distributed by the WTS, they got a confused look on their face and quickly changed the subject.

dubs are working the housing estate where i live.
i was outside my house, applying some tlc to my old jag (worshiping worldly things?)..
one old guy, half a dozen middle-aged and upwards ladies.
Question related to this invitation work:
Has anyone reviewed the data to see whether there has been any sort of measurable % increase in Memorial attendance since this concerted invitation business (including "pioneer-lite") started several years back?
I'd be curious to know if it's made any real difference besides killing a few hundred thousand trees to print all those invites.

30 minutes and a km article of 13 paragraphs to consider how the field service group should be 5 mins brief!.
how ironic!.
(find this in the kingdum misery for march).
My other half (who is not "awake", btw), looked at the schedule, saw who was delivering this part and informed me we would not be attending the meeting that week because of it.

so i was lurking on jwtalk after trying to read the thread on there about the broadcast about the conti case...and holy moly there are some bat ish crazy talk on that site!
they also blocked the thread about the broadcast, lol!
they are scuuuuured (scared).
hey people, .
i am soon going into a kh for the first time and i could use some advice around etiquette etc.
i know next to nothing besides the fundamental beliefs of jws, i personally dont believe in any religion, and that stance isnt ever going to change, however i don't want to come across as rude or disrespectful.
Expect something along these lines:
if the witnesses have the truth and have been going to meetings for many years and every week they learn how to be effective in the ministry and learn about the bible on sundays and every week have a family worship night, why are they afraid to talk to anyone who doesn't agree with them or question their beliefs?
if they have the truth then nothing can refute it.
the truth is the truth.
So JWs do all that supposed study, and they can't defend the Bible and their theology.
That's one of the reasons the GB is so afraid of "higher education".
Take someone who has spend 18 years of his or her life-- spending 6+ hours a week listening to Bible instruction at the KH, plus Circuit Assemblies, plus Regional Conventions, plus personal study, plus Family Worship, plus field service-- all that time, all that "reasoning", all that indoctrination and building of faith.
Take that person and put them into one "Intro to Philosophy 101" their Freshman year in a university. It's a class that meets 2-3 week, for 50 minutes, for a total of 12 weeks. By the end of the semester (less than 36 hours of total class time) and suddenly 18 years of all that JW instruction goes out the window.
36 hours vs. 18 years...and the 36 hours wins most of the time. (Luke 6:49) Wonder why.
