  The koolaid sipping aint far off now....

  so today after the meeting an older pioneer sister was outside as people were talking about the wonderful experience from the yearbook of the family in nigeria or wherever that went to the meeting and the plane destroyed their neighborhood.

  but since they were at the metting they lived..... .

  so she says, "you heard about the ones that died in a bus crash on the way to the convention????

  I guess I never thought of the blood doctrine as sipping the koolaid but it is a good comparison.

  Still, I guess if you want to get technical, I don't think there will ever be an instance where the GB tells all JW's they have to drink the koolaid.

  that flood that according to the bible was several meters higher than everest (note noah and everything on his boat would not be able to,breathe at this height) apparantly didn't do that much damage to civilisations in world history...... funny that?

  i wonder what else is bullsh*t in those scrolls????.

  Phizzy, in order for it to kill all the people in the world besides Noah and his family, it would have had to be global, or at least over several continents. That is what the Bible says happened.

  I love when people try to dance around it and claim they know what some guy was thinking thousands of years ago. It must be nice to have that kind of insight.

  no snare&racket, you are so wrong you are embarrasing yourself. We should completely devote ourselves to the rest of it because clearly it gets all of the lies and BS out in the first two books. The rest of it is pure unadultered truth. Get with the program.

  i guess this sort of thing is bound to happen, even though the society implies that angels are out there protecting jehovah's witnesses from harm.. interestingly, it wasn't an angel who came to the rescue, but a "worldly" bystander with his gun.. .

  cedars, I didn't watch the video but I think someone else said they saw a beware of dog sign in the news video.

  EDIT: Yes, there was a beware of dog sign in the window. Maybe I was just an unusual JW but I was always on the look out for No Trespassing and Beware of Dog signs.

  punkofnice, I don't think it will ever come to that. I'm sure many JW's would drink the koolaid but the JW's are a different brand of cult than the People's Temple or the Heaven's Gate.

  I'm not sure where anybody gets the idea that the Israelites built the pyramids. There really is no indication of that, even in the Bible. In fact, evidence shows that it was paid workers who built the pyramids.

  To be fair, the Society does tell JW's to use discretion when you see "Beware of Dog" signs. My trick was always to rattle the gate to see if I could get the dog to come forward. If I couldn't, there was always a possibility it was waiting for me to go in the yard before approaching. Unless I saw the dog, I would not go into the yard.
