  i once attended a two day special assembly with my gums bleeding after having 4 widom teeth pulled the day before.

  i managed the two days by rinsing out my mouth all day long and placing cotton in my mouth.. one brother had back surgery the week before but attended a two day assembly by laying on a matress in the back of the assembly hall.

  why he needed to be there i'll never understand!.

  Anyone else an Ex Bethel "volunteer"

  i was wondering if there were any other ex-bethelites on here.

  i personally regularly went for temporary work at brooklyn then was assigned to the farm for a year and a half.

  it was... one of the most bizaare experiences of my life.. so i wrote it all down (finally, after some 15 years) so i won't bore anyone on here with the details of the story - because bethel doesn't show up until chapter 15... and for you straight folks, it gets a bit gay in two places... but nothing gross.

  someone told me that there is a rumor that soon the watchtower and awake's magazines will be only one (fusion).. anybody knows something concrete about that, or is only rumor instead?.

  Pubsinger, it's like when record companies release an album that consists of a two CD set. They count it as two album sales everytime they sell one.

  i noticed over the years how bros & sis(tm) would pronounce words/names differently or totally substitute them so as not to sound offensive.. egs:.

  instead of 'bible aids' a bro(tm) said 'bible helps' thus avoiding aids disease!?!.

  instead of sodom the bro(tm) pronounced it 'sow dom'.

  Me and my brother always laughed at the song where you had to sing about not sparing the rod. I just remember the verses came off kind of child molester-esque. Even though this doesn't have anything to do with pronouncing things differently. Some of the comments here just reminded me of it.

  When have you been 'encouraged' by a brother or sister to do something you didn't want to do, or didn't feel able to do? And how did you FEEL afterwards?

  I was "encouraged" to get baptised by a sister. I felt great. Like I was really serving Jehovah to my fullest at such a young age. Then several years later I realized I had made a mistake.

  Ridiculous Hospital Experience Regarding My Non-JW Brother

  so a couple weeks ago my brother went into the hospital.

  the only time anybody could have told them he was jw was on the ambulance.

  i asked her about how he got switched to being a jehovah's witness.
