  Things I'm grateful for....

  i only recently decided to change course in my life but am surprised at the daily reminders of what i have to be grateful for.

  by this, i mean, things i have spent my life worrying about, or torturing myself with, that is no longer a concern:.

  no more door-to-door humiliationno more guilt about not doing enoughi can get rid of most of the dresses in my wardrobe since i didn't like them anywayno more nylons rolling down my abdomen and causing my thighs to itchno more required reading and preparationno more talksno more conventions and all the headaches connected to themsummer is wide openweekly planning is no longer contingent upon meeting nightno more miserable weekends of morning service and morning meetingwhat are you grateful for?.

  i never could, like some others described, i could never ever see myself there, i just couldnt imagine it at all,.

  i wonder if that was a sign that deep down i didnt believe it?.

  Is it just me or isn't it people's imperfections that sometimes make them interesting people? If we were all perfect we would all end up being the same and I think that would be boring. At least thats what I always thought.

  HELP Why dont we hear God/Angels

  ive heard time and time again that the gb does its best because "as we all know" god doesnt talk to us anymore.. so my question is this...is there and scriptual evidence that god has said he will be cutting off all communication to us.

  all prophecy is done and the bible is the end all be all?.

  unless the bible specificly states that god and the angels are silent then thats a huge game changer.. how is the food gonna be fed to us at the propper time unless we get new communication..

  That's a pretty good point frigginconfused. I don't htink it says anywhere in the Bible that it would end being the case that God would stop talking to his people.

  They get paid that kind of money because thats what people want to see. Its not like they are forced into it and I'm not talking about those people sold into sex trafficing and things like that.

  S-3 forms kept on studies? Are they keeping a record on me?

  i just read some of ex-specialpioneer's story and noticed they filed "s-3" forms on his dad with the cong secretary.

  i am a worldly in the middle of doing a jw study.

  could someone please enlighten me on these "s-3" forms?.

  Nah they stopped using that a few years ago. My congregation still had a stack of them when i left. Why throw them out? Used them to write misc. junk on them.

  funny times growing up a witness

  i was raised from the age two as a witness by my new recruit parents in 1981. i was born in 79.. i didn't like being jw, and that didn't mean i was a saint.. and my parents were fanatical and still are.. i have an an older sister and a younger brother and we are all 2 years apart.. my brother and i were a riot.

  mischeivious, rambuctious, hyperactive and not afraid of nothing.. we had games over the years.. like singing in british accents during the songs(and during bible reading at family study) and screwing with the word just loud enough for each other to hear.. we used to have armrest battles when we sat beside eachother.

  pushing elbows until the other slipped and got in trouble.

  i have had it with my mother.

  i've spoken on the board before about her.

  she is fanatically religious, often keeps me on the phone for hours while she talks endlessly about the bible.

  I was reading an article from 1935 and Time had this quote:

  "This organization now claims 2,500,000 followers who in 60 languages in 34 nations read its pamphlets and its journals, Watch Tower and Golden Age."

  Did they really have 2.5 million members back then?
