Taking Back the Payment for Sins?
by Ding init's my understanding that the wts teaches that jesus couldn't have been resurrected in a physical body because that would be taking back the payment made by the ransom sacrifice.. it's also my understanding that the wts teaches that people who are not of the 144,000 are not born again and are not under the new covenant.. so how is their sin paid for?
by their own deaths, right?
"the wages of sin is death.".

Interesting Experience...
by TheClarinetist inso my girlfriend and i were walking to the post office and this really quiet guy comes up and comments that he likes my shirt (black shirt that says "lucifer" in white text).
he then goes on to say that he's a monk and wants us to have this "free" book on meditation.
my girlfriend is big into meditation, so she's like "okay" and starts looking at it, and then he tells us that he can't give it to us unless we make a donation so that they can pay to print another book.

No doubt this story is made up. You'd think they'd at least make the stories somewhat believable. It reminds me of the episde of Seinfeld with Raquel Welch. " I heard from someone that when they cut one of her lines, she climbed up the rope on side of the stage and started dropping lights on peoples heads. Story like that has got to be true. "

Why so many Atheist VS. Christian discussions here?
by mindmelda ini notice a lot of the discussions seem to be atheist vs christian here.
or is that just my perception?.
but, do the other people who are neither just not care to debate as much or are there just fewer or them, or both?.

MrFreeze
I don't get why people argue atheism vs. christianity. More than likely you won't ever change someones mind. Can't we just live and let live?

Thanks everyone!
by MrFreeze ini would like to thank all of the posters to this board.
had i not stumbled upon here, i may never have been armed with the courage and information i needed to stand up for myself and leave this religion.. i'd probably still be going to meetings, giving talks on the service meeting, public talks, going out in field service.
i might even have been guilted into going off to mts within the next year... yikes!.

If that means "am I the reason you didn't apply" then no. I was asked by an elder once to send in an temp. application and I said "it's too regimented for me". He bugged me about it constantly but I never gave in.

Some people complain about the sometimes harsh touch many posters here have. With a subject like the WTBTS sometimes you have to be frank, harsh and derogatory towards it. It really gets the point home about how much damage this cult does. Seeing all the people angry at the WT shows what exactly it does to people.
Even though I have left many things behind, I feel I have gained something far more valuable. I can now live honestly and be free to choose who I want to be. I just wish I hadn't wasted 22 years on it. Some of you have lived your entire life, 30, 40, 50 years in the organization. I feel especially sorry for those ones who've wasted so much time with this organization. Thanks again to everyone here!

How many? How many?
by belbab inover the years how many cases do you know of where a jw mother while giving birth lost her life by bleeding to death.
did her children survive?.
my wife and i remember five different cases.

MrFreeze
I personally only know of five people who ever had to make a decision about blood. None were as a result of childbirth.
